How many ski days you all got so far this season

0 and it's looking like I'll be spending only 1 day if I even drag my old ass to our tiny overpriced Vail owned shit show.

Fuck Vail.

Today was 70 for me, 53 in a row. First 8 days were on a preseason set up. I work lift ops and get 7+ runs a day when I work and ride both my days off.

Im the guy that gives the lifties their breaks. I ski from chair to chair and check in on them. The more I check in with them, the more I get to ski. My job = ski.

We have 2 lift supervisors at my mountain that ski around. Whenever I ride with one of them we poach while he’s on the clock lmao

15. Started on Halloween weekend but missed all of November and most of December until 12/23. 30 is my goal for the season.

I’m always finding friends when I’m giving someone a break and I take runs with them to the next lift. I have to dig a lot of snow but the trade off is worth it. Skiing everyday or even every other day will help improve your skill level a lot. We also have night skiing and I get a couple runs after work most days as I can’t go into the park on shift.

only 11 rn :/ dosent help that theres no night skiing in co so im limited to weekend warrior days only. hoping that ruby hill opens soon so i can hike that park at night

Fr the worst part about colorado skiing is the lack of night skiing. Sure there's some, but it's far and generally inaccessable and still not even open til 2 am like hyland is sometimes

I look at the people who only have a handful of days in and don’t ride 5 days a week like I do and can only think…

if I get to that point my life is either going really well or absolutely fucking terrible and there’s no in between.

Pushed back a week so snow will stay until may. Originally, was gonna open this Wednesday.

Im at about 17 days or so which is fucking depressing. I use to ski almost everyday last few seasons

yup, hopefully gonna be there next Wednesday for opening, as long as they have a big old tube il be more than happy

Yeah I’m gonna be there a lot once they open. It’s like 10 minutes from me

I’ve got 27 days so far and I go to public school and I have to trek 400 km to school and I live 567 miles from my local hill in Florida. That’s a lot of football fields

I don't count them, but I will at the end of this year, my guess is I'm somewhere around 40-50 by now which is unusual for me by february.

You meant to say Trollhaugen and it’s actually open til 3am, hyland closes at 9pm on the daily. Wild mountain offered night skiing til midnight two seasons ago and they failed to attract much of a crowd so they eventually stopped offering it. Trollhaugen hosts a few nightime snowboard comps throughout the season and they got concerts nearly every friday night which is why its such a success for them, totally recommend anyone that can stay up through the night to try it.

Life changes man, you're not gonna have the same priorities in 10 years. I only ski 30-40 days a season but I also work a full time job so I only ski on weekends, it's pretty hard to ski much more than that in my position.

But when I was in college and had class 2 days a week, I'd stack 80-100 days a season. I've been there, the change isn't negative at all, it's just how life goes and unless you work at the resort/in the ski industry you won't ski as much in the future.

I was getting close to 100 days most seasons when I worked for NS, but I chose lifestyle over income, which eventually had to change. Now I'm a weekend warrior and I'm completely fine with it, mostly because all of my friends are now, too.

Yeah I feel. I don’t have many issues with becoming a weekend warrior, wouldn’t wanna become anything less than 3 days a week though. I plan on adapting a similar path of yours aka get a real job but I still feel like I’ll be able to ski 4 days a week courtesy of night laps at woody pc and Brighton once I’m out in utah.

I was mainly referring to the people who maybe get out a handful of times a year.

I was talking to a branch manager today in Boston area that takes off Fridays and skis the whole weekend + Friday. It’s doable
