alright, just wondering what it's like outside of blue mountain - how many people on this site spend most of their day in the halfpipe?

there's been a few people who have commented on the fact that blue has a lot of good pipe skiers - just wondering if there are a lot of pipe people out there or if it's just blue's wierd group that spends almost all day skiing halfpipe...

i don't normally ski pipe that much but they put a bunch of super hard pro rails right next to it this year at copper and not hitting it would just be a waste of time---i'm not a pipe hiker though---yet......once i get better that may change

My home hill has a pipe, but nothing to groom it with. So It's really only rideable a couple days of the season (really stupid if you ask me.) When I go places with nice pipes, I ride it a lot. Pipe is a ton of fun, even though I am too not good at it because I don't have much access to one.

dude, some people still don't ski pipe at all? wierd... that'd suck ass if you didn't have a pipe to hit.

also sucks for all you that have to hike it. i just take the lift (short ride, right over the pipe - can see the whole park... never busy).

the dumbass that built our pipe put a wallride one the first hit on the right side. its absolutely useless cuz u cant get enough speed to get onto it. we need skiers and snowboarders teamin up to build our parks for fuck sake.

once you can ski midwest dirg and grass, you can call yourself good

My mountain bought a Pipe Dragon last year and blew the hydrolics the day that they bulit the damn pipe, so they didn't get to groom it all year. The pipe at Winter Park is a peice also. But i skiied a bunch of pipe in Copper and in Bear.

 
50-50 between park and pipe....although our pipe has about 2 good hits, it is still fun

there are no good pipes around me, only when i go to Whistler/Blackcomb and Steamboat and such, then there are awesome pipes.

i went to breck last year and all i did was ski the pipe one day and i loved it i wish more places had pipes that good

If you wip it out and dangle it in front of them they always come back.
 
Pipe is fun. I only get to ski a decent pipe about 6 times a year so I can't really get good.

im always at okemo and they have a nasty pipe. I'm there a lot because all around the pipe and by their rope tow are all the best rails. Thats where i usually am.

pipe is cool but I don't have 1 at my home mountain so I don't do a lot but when I go to palce with pipe I'm doing a lot for the day when it's nice

hitting blackhomb's superpipe is the best and you get to hit one of the best park's in the same run! i really progressed in that pipe this year. too bad washington didn't have the pipes that were promised at the beginning of the season.

I really feel that the pipe is the last frontier of newschool skiing. they're not at every area and skiers have just recently begun to get good at it.

towards the end of this season i started to ride it non stop and got really good at it

why are doves the international symbols of peace? why not pillows? they have 2 times as many feathers and not that dangerous beak!

Iam a big fan of the pipe... besides rails pipe is my next fav. I find most of the time Iam sessioning like one hit in the pipe or trying to throw down lines! I skied blue a couple times mike this year and the pipe was soo sick their! but massive! I regularly am out of devils glen, not as nice as blue!

I really like the pipe, almost better than the park, but this year, my home mountain never got around to building the two they normally have. Freakin Meadows.

this message is to the guy that asked for tips on how to get high on the pipe wat i always do is get loads of speed out side the pipe then 2/4 of the way in i drop in tat should get u enogh speed to get air

i really would like to ski pipe more, but i dont ever get the chance. you would think a hill in southern wi that claims to not have any room for anything resembeling a park would make a good pipe but no. not even with the pipe dragon they had. never. so that sucks for us i guess.

depending on whats good on a given day, I will ski pipe all day. usually the hits an rails are better, but some times the pipe is rockin.

I ride pipe nearly all the time. It's a lot less scary to me than tables. Now all the resorts with pipes are closed, so I'm going to have to start hitting the table at A-basin. Proably good for me though.

 
i hit the pipe pretty much every run, if its good, and then i will sometimes hike it at the end of the day when the lifts close, if its good.

the pipe i ride (loon) was decent this year, but it could have been better

next year they are supposed to have a rope-tow next to the pipe which would make it absolutely sick

2/4 = 1/2 lol... yeh pipe kicks ass. Its awsome to get a bunch of hits in a row.

uuh i think it was petek that said this about skiers being divided up into categories now, if you wanna be all tech about it yea skiing is skiing and all that shit, but if you look at snowboarding there are totally one aspect speficif boarders and therye fucking good at what they do, thats how the sport progresses so much in that one area, becase thats basically all they doo. yea....its cool
