How many people spent their first few years...

Skiing with snowboarders? I lived in a small town with a hill that had about 8 runs. Everyone thought skiing was pretty lame so I grew up learning to ski with snowboarders. After the first season everyone was chill with it though. Anyone else have a similiar experience?

I skied with 1 or 2 snowboarders every day in middle school and high schol, then i came to college and ski with mostly just skiers, but i still ski with boarders once and awhile, its pretty fun to watch snowboards slay shit too.

I ski with both one and two planks, it makes it fun no matter what as long as everyone is stoked on and appreciates what the others are doing

True that. Its kinda cool when you can see boarders do tricks that have a parallel trick in skiing.

How about boarders trying to convert you? Anyone had that? Happens all the time to me, it sucks having that conversation weekly.

In elementary school i rode with only boarders and a few skiers but not in highschool its pretty much even.

i'm opposite. when i was a wee little boy there was no snowboarding... when i got older and started to get into park skiing, or should i say, when skiers were allowed in the park, the snowboarders hated us and threw snowballs. this caused us skiers to band together quite quickly.

since then, i've slowly been riding with more and more boarders. now, if i have a fellow skier with me on a tour i'm stoked 'cause we can skin ahead and make fun of all those damn boarders and their slow ways.

Yup, all in all I've probably wasted about 10 decent's time just waiting for my boarder friends to strap in, put their gloves on, etc etc.

Snowboarders mostly. I've started to ski with more skiers now that I moved to california, but back in the Midwest i skied with almost all snowboarders.
idk, its fun, but it's hard to progress as fast with snowboarders than with skiers. No one to amp you to try new tricks and push you.

same - I don't mind snowboarders, but I want to ride with someone better than me at skiing so I can progress more

the 10 freeskiers at my mountain pretty much stick to ourselves. although every once in a while I will ride around with a boarder, I hate waiting for them to buckle in etc.

i dont ski with boarders. im just not really a patient person and i only know a few decent boarders they rest a d-bags or gapers where i live

about equal for me. But met some skiers from my new school and here that i will ski with this year

Couldn't have said it better. But I actually started out skiing mainly with skiers and now I ski with both skiers and boarders.

I love skiing with boarders- they do stuff you can't and it gets you hyped, and you do stuff they can't and it gets them hyped. Then the innovation begins- cool stuff happens when skiers try board tricks and vice versa.

i started off skiing with my best friend who boarded in like 3rd grade. now i ski with almost all skiers and a few snowboarders.

at my school i am the only park/freeskier and there are a shit ton of gaperesque snowboarders (wear hollister on the mountain + do extreme 10 foot rails) so i only end up riding with the rest of the local skiers that are always at my local mountain.

Like all my friends are boarders which really sucks. like everyone on my mountain boards. The thing that really sucks is that you'd think that them being snowboarders we'd always be in the park, but i'm like the only one that jibs, all they wanna do is have like a race down fuckin mistletoe. fuck mistletoe! fuck snowboarders!

i still roll with mainly boarders. the guys i grew up with skiing are all over the place now so its a rare occasion to have us all in the same place...
ii dont mind kicking it with boarders though, they have a different idea of whats possible/how things should be done, so its good times to change things up you know.

Exact opposite. I started snowboarding before anyone else was at my local hill.

Everyone skied, back when everyone skied.

It was kinda cool though, everyone wanted to ski with the snowboarder, even though I sucked and held everyone up cause I would fall all the type.

Pretty much learned by eating shit trying to go down the steep chairs.

Oh, and my mountain had a tbar at the time for the main lift. that thing was death to learn on. The cable ones that pull out, not the fixed ones like most bunny hills.

When a lot of people started snowboarding there that thing was carnage. You would literally have to jump over snowboarders on the steep hill to get up without falling off the lift.

good times.

Now most of the kids I ride with ski again. Idk, I'm used to being in the minority with my friends

from like 5th grade until sophomore year i skied with all snowboarders because i live on a stupid island where everyone thinks skiing isnt as cool as snowboarding, then i moved to summit county and all my friends were skiers
