How many people came from racing?

i never got into racing, when i was young i just took basic ski lessons and then i just went straight from there to freestyle

i remember trying skiing when i was in 2nd grade and i took lessons, and i did the splits and no one helped me up. i cried. then i started snowboarding until halfway last season. my friend showed me the gory of skiing and i got involved and this year im going to ski

i didnt do racing i just kinda shredded all over the mountain and last year was my first year of serious park

i still race...but skip training to go shred which doesnt get me the best results sometimes.....but it keeps me happy..

I used to race and still will jump into a course every once and a while. its fun, but the actual races and drills were so gay

i raced for a good five years

i think racing helped my skiing so much even though i get pissed at em for carving the park it still was a great idea to start off racing

On really icy days I step into a pair of World Cup race stock super-G skis and just go shredding.

i never raced per se, but my dad has been skiing for 40 some years, so basically, right now, if i wanted to i could go race, and do pretty well.

I from when I was two till age six. Then I snowboarded till halfway through two seasons ago and I decided to start skiing again

never did,

both my parents were guides and my mom used to race when she was younger but i never wanted to go into it cause even when i was 5 i thought it was stupid.

oh and kinda funny story, when my clothes were wayyyy to big i skied down the race course and pretty much afterbanged every gate and there coach wanted me to join, and i was like bitch please

i used to race when i was younger, and i see it with the positive aspect that racing made me a good skier, so i can ski good, on the slopes, BC and then i moved to the park cause the obvious reason that it was hell more fun!

i raced for NYSEF for three good years. then for the 03/04 season i wanted to take a years break because racing sucks up all time to just shred the mountain with your friends.. i like being free so much, i took another year off. then for 05/06 i was prepared to race again, but in october my eye cought the attention of the warrenmiller movie higherground.. so i said to my dad "1 more year without racing..." he agreed and i havent raced seince...

i am truly thankfull for what it taught me though.. i wouldnt be the skier that i am today without it. and dont get me wrong, i still LOVE carving steep groomers. Mountain Run to be specific.

I only started skiing 3 years ago and went from the slopes to the park

i love flying through gates on my seths while the race coach watches me though cause i go faster than most of his racers

k well first off were trying to stay away from the word N****, there was a thread yesterday bout it so watch out

but no i just started skiing two years ago and my first year i was a gaper, but this past year i had twintips and got very far for my first year

and thats a claim*

Well at least you can race because you definitely aren't passing English. I'm assuming you have letters in another sport because unless you've been a sophomore for 3 years, 4 letters in 2 years in 1 sport is impossible. And you're claiming a tad bit.

I raced. Then got into freestyle because it's like a 5 hour wait between runs at most large meets. And in the Mid west there isn't relay anything to do besides park when waiting.

i raced with a dope crew of kids for 6 years... its was real intense, it was fun but i just wasnt that ammused with it, it got repetitive and nerve racking with all the hoovering soccer parents wanting there kid to be the best. racing was fullfilled of shredding gnar continuesly, but there always came the time to go out and freeski, and thats all about having fun with variety. we would usually eat lunch quick and hit up the park asap.

at travel races we would hit up the parks at like bristol, labrador, greek peak, peek n' peek, holimont, windham, and holiday valley. the parks 3 years ago havent seemed to change in NY, bristol mountain standing out with the illest park, and holiday valley also coming a long way with there park.

well i'm glad this thread isn't filled with "ZOMG i don't race but can race on my park skis better than my entire high school team" claims.

I raced for 5 years. At my hill red mtn some of the best skiers raced. Dane Tudor was the best racer in my club and won alot of FIS races. It made me a way better skier and it makes you not afraid at all of going fast. During warm up runs before training gates all the racers would bomb down the hill in about 60 seconds getting yelled at by the patrol alot for "skiing out of control".

yes i am caiming, lettered in skiing every year since 7th grade, yes you can compete varsity in 7th grade, and football this year (sophmore im gonna be a junior)

Rental Skis(school ski club)--->Snowblades( school ski Club)--->Racing Skis(on my own)--->Twin Tippies(on my own)
