How many pairs of skis did you go through this season?

was doing some cork 5's in midle of july and like caught my tail and snapped it off(was a atomic infamous, got if for 120€ tho)and broke a pair at a waterramp a week ago

how in the world did you break skis on a waterramp?!

I've never really broken skis in my life , then this season happened.

I broke some recoils , snapped my ninthwards and I snapped a pair of Filthy Riches at hood.

I only tore the toe piece of my binding off this year. I've been lucky to only have cosmetic damage to my skis.

1 pair a season usually. The edge usually comes out and the whole ski is just beat up and is in shitty condition.

I went through 5... Freeway can really mess up your skis with all that impact.

What hoodie is that?

I have a pair of 2011 AR7's and they are bomb proof. only problem i ever had was when i hit a rock in the tip. just took a hammer and flattened it out and i don't notice any difference.

Jiberish Vault from a few years back.

I was on the team last year. These were prototype skis. The skis they sell are damn stable.

Must been a expensive season if you dont get that for free

I bought the k2 the season before so they had a full year in them before they broke.

the ninths I got for really cheap and the ON3Ps were demos.

I paid for 150$ of skis this season so no , not really expensive.

If you judge someone's intelligence on two sentence your a fucking retard

If you're (you are) going to insult someone's intelligence by comparing them to someone with Down's Syndrome, which isn't very nice, then you should should have some sort of basic command of grammar. If you're (you are) going to defend that person, then you should also have some sort of grammar skills, which you miserably failed in your sentence "If you judge someone's intelligence on two sentence your a fucking retard".

How about zero? What are you doing to your skis...

I Would say none of my skis I broke so far. I'm always in control when I ski 'coz I hate breaking them. I love my skis and I treat them well too. :)

i'd say my 2 pow skis are up for replacement...

after 2 seasons my coreupt born to drops have seen enough rocks and have been redrilled enough to write em off :)

and my EP pros had a huge coreshot and edge damage pretty much retiring them... (except for those really deep fluffy powder days)

so not really 'gone through' them last season, but in general, i'd say i skied enough to go through a pair :)

Ive broken a fuckton of skis in the last few years....it just happens if you ride them a lot. I go through about 2 sets of pow skis and a set of park skis a year. it mostly depends on how you ski, but brands can definitely have an impact as well

i voted 3 but sorta four? I started off last year on a pair of skis from the season before, shredded those for a bit, then went through another 2 pairs, and am going to start this season on my 3rd new pair from last year.

If you arent breaking park skis I don't know how

2.5. One pair was already pretty fucked up and I'd been skiing it was past its expiration date, blew out the sidewall of my Faction 1.0's within in 15 days of skiing them, got another pair on warranty and the sidewall is fucking up again already so I'm gonna try to get the warranty on those and sell them for not Faction 1.0's of which even the newer "burlier" core can't hold up to 20 days of skiing.

Got a coreshot, and separated most of the edge underfoot on my RMU Diams, but that was only because I was practicing 450s on to one of COP's infamous boxes and hit a fucking nail that was sticking up. Before that they only had two edge cracks and were holding up really well but it looks like they'll die pretty soon now.

pretty much two pairs, Retired my Ar7s got Thalls, Somehow a 110 pound 16 year old fucked these skis delamed both tips one tail. Edge ripped out of both tips, compressed fucked up sidewall on other ski, edge ripped out of the base on one ski, other skis base ripped off the edge and the edge ripped off the compressed sidewall but all stayed on the ski somehow. Skis suck to pay for thats for sure

Also got a pair of slats at the very end of the season, spent my summer at hood and about ready to retire them, to many rocks and rails

When youre getting ignant only trannying rocks for days on end i can see that

Last year was a bad luck year for me. Completely exploded a sidewall on my older Kung Fujas, ripped both nose pieces out of my Alpha x's and high speed gaper rammed into an aspen with my Wailers totally bashing in a tip. Expensive fucking year, none of the things I did to break them were cool either.

:(

broke a marker griffon binding on my first day out on them!

I broke two sets of them in one season. I will never buy Markers again

I've gone through 3 skis in the last 8 years.

My Reno Jibs are on their last limb, If i get the whole next season out of them, i'll be stoked

I've been riding my Morphics for two seasons now and they've only got a couple of scratches and one chip. Seriously, what the fuck do you people to break your skis so much?

You must be pretty light as I blew a set of morphics to bits in less than two weeks, three big core shots and the camber was all but gone.

I don't really hit big jumps so that'll probably explain why they've lasted long

Hell yeah! good as new!

I indulge my addiction for trying different skis by buying 2 pair of beaters at the swap every year and mounting myself. Usually spend about $250 for a couple pairs and a set of bindings. No major damage besides some core shots this season, but my Fatypus are gettin a little ragged. Love those skis though, so I'll definitely try to get a third season out of them.

Never went near the park with them, all off piste / tracking back to the lifts. I don't think they like a fat person riding moguls on them either...

How much do you weigh? I weigh 65 and they're fine for me. I'm gonna retire them after this season but they held up like a dream for me.

95kg without gear on, and not too much of it is fat. Put it this way I've broken two sets of boots this season... Solly X-Pro and X-Max 120's. Now have Atomic Tracker 130's for back country and Redster WC 150's have been ordered for resort skiing.

Jesus. I can't imagine actually breaking a pair of race boots without incurring a season ending injury.

Props for dealing with all the underengineered gear in this sport designed for skinny europeans. Although I'm jealous because you could actually rock Nordica Jah Loves...

this year I already went through 2 pairs of 4frnt switchblades

the edge delaminated from the base then it started to rot from water damage

no i have APO and they seem way more durable

They are! Too bad they're pulling out of North America. Quality product doesn't always correspond with sales I guess.

i commented and asked on their instagram and they said they will continue in north america but they probably say that to keep there rep for now before they go out of business. it sucks, the kai pro is my favorite ski

Haha yeah last I heard they're giving up on the US market. I've had the Hutches for three seasons now and they are awesome! No major damage after thousands of rail hits and they still have pop. I believe it's actually the same ski as the Kai Pro. Softer, rockered Sammy C.

2, kind of.

One of my atomic punx has decambered, I don't know why just the one has since I put them on random feet each time.

One of my volkl gotama's has 6 core shots (all filled) but the sidewall has slightly delamed and the edge is starting to pull away. Waiting for it to pull away more so that I can shove epoxy in there and clamp it. Oddly enough the other ski is pristine. That one ski is just unlucky.

I'm a big European, its a challenge I have here all the time with kit in and out of skiing. I had to re design the seat base on my Alfa Romeo as its meant for ting Italians and my head was in the roof. There's also a reason most of my clothes come from the states.

I fell for the solly marketing on the X-Pro and X-max (well the latter were the warranty for the X-Pros as I had no option but what other sollys the shop sold).

The X-Pro and Max are very very soft boots, more 90-100 in old money (my old CS100's were a lot stiffer). The new plastic they have used makes them very easy to heat mould in the shops and reduces the time needed to punch a boot out. The down side of this is its very temperature sensitive and the polymer chains being different behave differently.

In normal European alpine temps (mine had about 10 days on each over two seasons) from January to the end of March. The last just kept expanding, there was no visible defect with the boots until you put them next to a new pair in the shop and measured the width and mine had grown outwards quite a bit.
