How many of you guys go to the UOM?

Yo i'm applying there this year, what is the scene like so far and does it look like there is actually a good skiing crowd around?

I just transferred here. so far the scene consists of some gnarly granola eaters and a lot of bump bashing little kids. I see a few kids rocking armada stuff on campus but i dunno yet as to the season hasn't really started.

i am a fresh here live in aber 207...........stop by anytime and blaze.....i walk around campus and wonder who is on NS here, saw one kid were an armada hat and asked him, but he said he hasnt even heard of NS....but it was be cool to chill is a fellow NS....

its really too bad you guys didn't start this thread sooner. i usually have at least a pre game party here every weekend. we had a few way out of hand ragers but i'm cutting back on those until right before the snow falls. holler if you wanna chill

zoo town ... represent... where are you living on campus? i was in duniway dungeon last year ...anyway sorry im rambling

yes... completely unacceptable... anyways we should probably get something going in terms of a party oh say... this weekend? oh yeah and if any one wants to get some turns in i think i am going to go hike trappers peak on friday.

hell yeah guys. for those of you wondering about this school, the scene is sick. there is so much partying and i have met a bunch of skiiers. i usualy pregame at Sigma Nu, because i am a pledge there. i was gonna go to kegs and eggs this weekeend, but im going wit hmy roomate to butte instead. stop by any time, Craig 120, my name is travis.

we should have a NS party

i know a couple of people pledging at sigma Nu.....but for sure i will stop by one day.....or if you ever find yourself in aberhood stop up in 207 my name is Dylan and my roommates name is Marc we both ski and we chill alot..and i like chilling with new people and if they are on NS it makes it even better....

I graduated from U of M in 2006.

I live in Polson, MT right now (1.5 hrs south towards Whitefish)

I often go to Missoula to skateboard, or party or to buy things, its a dope as fuck town, I miss it. Let me know if there are any dope parties or if anyone wants to go skating down there sometime.

Im on vacation right now from work so Ill prob be down there a bunch these couple weeks.

sounds sick, but no one talked about the skiing, if you've been there for a year or went there, whats it like, any decent parks nearby, any bc opportunites...whats the deal, I just sent my application in

park dude? you don't come here to ski park. you come here to ride back country. there is solid park on either side of us (north and south) but this spot is for good back country terrain. not like bozeman though, but i think its a way cooler town.

Yup, Im not super into Mtn. Biking but its a really sick spot to ride, alot of trails on the outskirts of town and its a super bike friendly town. You can pretty much ride your bike anywhere in that town, it saves so much money on gas. But if you are going to want to ski a bunch this winter, you are going to need a car to travel

i just rallied a down hill trail that took us 45 minutes to go down. we stopped a few times so it would have been about 30 minutes straight.

mind you I was riding with pro class dh racers. there are alot of other trails here too, and some really epic xc trails.

I would recomend coming here for sure.

Hey I'm at UM, this is my fourth year! Place is beautiful and there's a lot of skiing to be had in every direction! Whitefish Mountain Resort (formerly Big Mountain) is a few hours away but the biggest in the immediate area. Snowbowl is pretty popular, only like 20-30 minutes from campus - winter weekends are packed with college kids and they're always putting on some crazy events. Lookout Pass is 1-1/2 hours away or so, not too bad, neither is Silver Mountain just a bit further. The school puts on several all-included student packages to big resorts like Fernie, BC and Red Mountain, BC... they have a charter bus, lodging and weekend tickets, usually a really great deal. We (University of Montana) also has a freeskiing club. All the premeires are hittin' town this month - Turbo, Reasons, CLAIM, Under the Influence - I'm getting excited, plan to be at them all!! So yes, I highly recommend the University of Montana. :)

^ haha this is my fourth year of college but my first here.

for the rest of you fools I'm pretty sure we're having a rager friday night. all y'alls invited. the beer will flow like wine. I'll keep you posted for details.

ok kids. remember that party i was talking about? it's going down friday night oct 3rd. there will be a keg(s). Cups will be very inexpensive for people i approve of, and we will have a kid i know throwing down on the turntables. pm me for my number, or just give me yours, and you're all invited.

cheers.

lets get drunk-ski

Is anyone going to the Claim premiere this Friday? I might be coming over with some Great Falls kids...

to those applying or considering applying to missoula frats.... big mistake if you want to experience missoula get some growlers of some good local beer... and come smoke bowls at the 109... good luck.

no doubt you've heard and witnessed things that formulated this opinion. if any pledges want a frank opinion from a greek alum, find me for a candid chat on a chairlift or at a ski event sometime. I experienced the extremes, good and bad, of the greek system. whether you should join really depends on the type of person you are. honestly ask yourself, am I a strong leader or a follower?

if you're a follower, the people who join the greek system for the wrong reasons will decompose your soul. what sort of guys are they logically recruiting when the recruitment activity is beating a car to pieces with an assortment of weapons? in the pursuit of healing from the extreme bad I experienced from those followers in the greek system, I found skiing. well . . . two big mountain legends I met by destined chance at a motel pool told me skiing would help my injury.

if you look me up on the composites, I have short hair because I gave my hair to charity on philanthropy day of recruitment. two years as sorority treasurer helped me get elected to student body treasurer, business manager during a state legislative year . . . now there is a MIP exemption in Montana for underage victims of assault reporting the crime or more importantly for victims seeking medical attention. the MIP exemption is also for the underage friends helping the victim to the hospital.

Back to the thread subject. Griz rule! U of M allows you to ski everday and get your MBA at night. UM also boasts a year long world class Entertainment Management program with late afternoon classes and class all day Saturday, which is the busiest day of the week for skiing crowds anyway.
