How many espresso shots can you consume before it becomes dangerous to go about your daily activities? Currently running 4 and feeling aggressive.

I do 6-8 a day usually, most of those before 12 but usually have a nice afternoon coffee to.

Depends on the espresso and the serving size but there is about 100mg of caffeine in 1-2oz of espresso. Personally I don't like going over 300mg because it gives me jitters and leads to a catastrophic crash later in the day.

Gym bros probably have the worst caffeine addictions I have ever seen. There's several people I've met at the gym who drink a bang (300mg) on top of a simulant based pre work out (250-400+ mg). I've heard of people going up to 1g (1,000mg) and beyond which is completely fucked.

Up to 6 now, for someone who doesn't have any tolerance to caffeine I can say this is definitely close to limit

The amount of caffeine certainly varies depending on the beans, the machine, ratio, etc I'm not sure where homie got his numbers, but one espresso shot is more like 40-60mg of caffeine.

100mg per 2oz is pretty spot on, I misread this thinking you meant 1 shot was 100mg.

I think its a bit of a misconception that espresso is highly caffeinated, a couple cups of light roast coffee is like 300mg, while I have 3 double americanos and its not even 300.

a pic my coworker took of me after 6 of em

I can do a 300mg energy drink and feel fine. If I drink too much coffee my stomach starts to want to be on the outside of my body and it’s unpleasant. I had two k-pods and a redbull this morning, but I was tired AF so I was looking to send it more than usual

same

never was a daily coffee drinker to begin with but quit all caffeine completely earlier this summer and never felt better. Now the thought of coffee makes me gag....so acidic

me reading this thread and casually drinking upwards of 800mg on a pretty relaxed day.

1 pot of dark roast before I go to work, 1 in the thermos, and 2 large tims coffee's throughout the day. average the pot at 200, which i think is low, and 270 per large coffee's, i'm rocking a pretty average 800+ a day. fucking ouch.

i just do crack

Espresso is such a cleaner, better more focused buzz than drip coffee. Usually I can put down around 6 shots of espresso in a day before I start crashing. I crash much harder on drip coffee and feel more sluggish though.

Currently on one 8oz drip coffee and 3 shots espresso in a latte. Drip coffee didn’t do shit this morning.

Try using a French Press. You can use the same coffee you would for a normal drip pot but it will be way darker/stronger.

Darker =/= stronger, light roasts usually have the most caffeine while dark roasts have the least. But, you could use 2-3x more grounds and make it "stronger".

I like it better than drip coffee but I still like espresso the best. I think part of it is just the volume of caffeinated liquid in espresso based drinks/espresso vs drip/French press.

Yeah this is true

Well, coffee gives me early onset shits so I don't drink it. Its better that way too. Would rather get good sleep than be powered by caffeine. Coffee is for the weak.

Haven't had reg coffee in a while. My espresso machine makes 6-7 oz at a time so I typically have a few cups of that a day. On the more rushed days, I replace them with energy drinks which is so expensive. How tf does one shake a caffeine addiction?

sipping on espresso is an underrated pleasure. If you ever get the chance to try real italian espresso it will change your life

With a lemon zest and sugar ?

I had French press today and same thing as drip coffee - I’m just slamming it and feeling no “alertness” but getting the coffee sweats ?‍?

When it comes to coffee, do you buy, example, Dominican? or coffee from countries like Guatemala? or just a walmart brand?

Interesting I woulda thought the answer was less cuz a few hundred mg of caffeine like in a pre-workout has me tweaking. I woulda guessed 800-1000mg would be enough to throw someone into a bad rhythm but guess not. 1000mg will still fuck you up though.

For the buzz kill nerds out there like me. Here you go:

Also fun fact if you smoke, you can drink more caffeine. Smoking increases metabolism of caffeine so that's why you see smokers drinking a gallon of coffee like it's nothing.

Ethiopian Yerg. I was roasting my owns beans for a while kept coming back to these. Medium roast.

Always whole bean and fresh.

Use a quality burr grinder. Learn about grind size.

Use a scale.

If you're making espresso, make it properly.

I went through an entire spiritual transformation once I started paying attention. Can't believe how many years I spent drinking shitty coffee.

Yeah dude shitty coffee is so easy to spot after having good stuff. It's night and day. Our coffee at work is so bad that no amount of sugar, creamer, or even hot chocolate powder can fix it; this shit cuts through anything to reveal the shitty taste beneath. I prefer coffee black but that shit is just so bad. Pretty much any fast food joint has garbage coffee. Starbucks is doo doo. Even some "local" places I've went to are crap too.

I've found an easy way to tell if a place knows how to brew coffee is to order an espresso. If it's bad, they either have no clue what they're doing or don't care about their beans. Obviously aware coffee =/= espresso but it's a decent comparison. I prefer americano over drip coffee if I'm not at home so when places have bad espresso it is noticeable.

I'm not a huge caffeine fiend so just a cup a Joe is all I need for the day, hoping to eliminate caffeine all together cause sometimes messes with my blood sugar and feel like crap

“Green apples” - ever since I heard that description about American espresso, I can’t shake it. I can taste now whether they use American style or Italian style espresso

In general, drinking a lot of coffee is harmful, you can get an overdose from it, as was the case with 6ix9ine. The interesting thing is that before him I can't remember at least one rapper who almost died of a coffee overdose, he was depressed then. Usually, when I have stressful moments, when I work a lot or have mishaps in my personal life, I just drink cbd oil canada, which calms me down and makes me distracted and relaxed. What about coffee, I don't even drink it, I just don't like it.

bad bot
