yes, no

i think you should look at trends so far and how theyve died out or how they havent, and where it looks like the sport is going...there is so many answers and different things you could say, i would try to make ur essay less broud to start...but if u havent watch the beginning of X=10 which might help with the history of freeskiing if you dont know alot about it, but i assume u do blah blah blah i have no idea what i just said

Freeskiing will continue to grow and ultimately take over racing. If you look at how fast it has grown in such a short period of time, it is incredibly fast and just getting faster. more and more freeskiing is on TV. and just look at newschoolers. it is now home to 60,000 people after just being around for a few years.

It's gonna keep progressing. For a while anyways. Racing will die out. Then 10 year olds will be able to ski huge lines and do cork 12's. By this time racing will be long gone. (in 100 or so years) Then people will want to see how fast they can go, and if they are faster than other people. Then racing will come back. Then die out again while freesking comes back. This will be a huge cycle. (Over hundreds of years)

good man way to do a report on skiing!!!!!!

i think that skiing in the future will continue to evolve and progress more and more and more. i do not know where the freeskiing or rather skiing industry is headed at the present time but i think freeskiing will become more mainstream and eventually become corupt with sellouts and people who are just in it for the money. that has already begun but i think we will also see alot of small independent companies comming out that are just to the progression of our side of the sport.

many things could change but really it is up to us and the future freeskiers and even their youth to explore our sport for the fullest extent of the possibilities.

skiing could eather continue to be underground or begin to get more mainstream like i mentioned above. in a few years there will be a "pro boom"

as i like to call it becasue all the young youth like myself (15 years old) and even younger like 10-12 year olds will become to become pro athletes in the sport. this will boost the industry to an all time high and will rack in big bucks for the industry.

people at the present time are supporting the movement and dont even know it with snowboarders bying skiing-brnad clothing and sporting it like they know what they are talking about but reall they are supporting skiing and not snowboarding so this is generating more $$$$ for our industry.

i literally could go on for pages so i am going to cut it short.

if i think of anything worthy of your report i will psot it in the future.

ps....for tons of info of where the industry was and on of the most influetial companies in freeskiing to date go to www.lineskis.com and go to the story of how line got started by Jason levinthal...one of my personal skiing heros....also get lots of quotes from tanner hall and glen plake and stuff like that just becasue of how contriversal tanner is to the sport.

hope i helped

Freestyle skiing will take over racing and then snowboarding. snowboarding will then become cool again, followed by racing. repeat.

yeah, honestly, looking from the number of skies this year to last year, id say the population on my mountain of freeskiers has gone up about 400 %. and like the other guy said, look at ns. it keeps growing faster and faster. skiing will truly dominate racing

FREESKIING WILL NEVER DIE AS LONG AS THERE IS AT LEAST ONE PERSON DOING IT FOR THE RIGHT REASONS AND KEEPING IT REAL.

telling off snowboarders and being contreversal is whats going to make our sport great...not so much the snowboarder part but just fighting back to everything being snowboarder.....HOWEVER....this could be our downfall if we become retardedly huge and dumb lieke snowboarding which i would hate to happen but sad to say it will happen....

freeskiing will become overrun with posers and such in the next couple of years then...it wont be "cool" anymore so most people will switch over to snowboarding(the last few years)

i truly love this sport and do not want it to become snowboarding.....however IT WILL HAPPEN...IT IS THE SKIERS APOCOLYPSE

Yeah i agree it'll take over snowboarding. freeskiing is becoming the "cool thing" in winters for younger kids. seriously, i mean ten years ago you wouldnt have little kids like sean pettit doing cork sevens over 50 foot step downs. its expanding and younger kids are getting better and better. in fifteen years all resorts in the country are going to be swarmed with free skiers and riders because the current younger generation's new home is the terrain park, not in the race course.

it will always be around because die-hard skiers like us newschoolers will always be around. woot to skiing i love it and im sad this season is over but next year im gonna learn to cork, flip, and umm other shit too.

amen.

why does everyone have to do academic essays on freeskiing? nobody understands us in the academic world; it never works.

but, i guess it couldnt hurt to try and inform everyone about your passion. just make sure not to embarrass our sport, will ya.

yeah i agree with freeskier as long as there are kids out there keeping it real and living it up it will never die... i think that in the long run the whole winter sport population is really going to dominate and spread worldwide even more than is has been in the last few years

One of the big trends in freeskiing is surely to be found in the growing women population in the sport - here in Europe more and more women are skiing the bc - the parks are still really male dominated. but if you look at the industry which are all making special products for women - and they know their market research - then you will know that this trend is setting in.

freeskiing will probably continue to grow. however, i dont think we'll ever see a freeskier (big mountain and freestyle alike) with a sponsorship deal the size of Bode's atomic deal. Although many of you disagree, racing is the essence of skiing. Its the only way that skiers can compete without the subjectivity of judging. In the last twenty years we have seen an insurgence of style, steez or whatever you want to call it...while going down the mountain. Style is cool and tricks are impressive, but when it comes down to it, skiing is all about who can make it down the mountain....FASTEST

freestyle will take over then it'll get too warm to ski cause of global warming and it'll suck
