how long should they be some says it should be lik 10-15cm shorter and some as long as u are!

so how long should i take now?

I'm with phatttim- go demo some. Demo a huge range of skis at both ends of the spectrum. Go REALLY short then try some longer ones. It depends on the ski really. I would not go as 'long as you' in any circumstance, but some will disagree.

 
you know Tanner Hall rides skis taller than him and throws d-spin 1080s. If your skis are too short, tricks look pretty gay.

REMEMBER: It's 10% equipment, and 90% rider.
 
longer skis are more versatile for all mountain where as shorters for park. im 5'10 and i ride scratch 188.

my rule of thumb is to never ski on a pair of skiis shorter than you unless you are either:

1. a girl

2. a ninny ass bitch

That MSCR dude is flat out wrong, epimitheus is right, skis should be pretty big. ONly ninnies like mike nick ski on tiny skis... Jon olson is 5'9' and skis on 180s if that gives you any perspective. Also, most people buy twins smaller than normal skis cuz they are better for spinning and shit, but don't be a pussy, twin tips should actually be longer, cuz of the 2nd tip, there is actually like 5-10 cm of edge that isn't on the snow, therefore, buy bigger.
