How long is mt hood open in the summer

Just wondering how late mt hood is open in the summer and if u can hike to the park from the road so u wouldn't have to buy a ticket
 
if you try and hike the park without a ticket they will catch you and fine you 100 bucks. have fun

Don't be a pussy ass cunt. Everyone hikes, and dumb east coasters get caught. Put in the work, make friends with the real locals (Timberline cafeteria employees, ex-ski instructors, ski bowl employee's) and ask them their techniques for eluding. I have never had a summer pass, and have put a good 100+ days each summer.

Stop by the red house number# 1 next to the chevron first door, to cheeba with Joey scrappy, and go to mole town

It definitely seems possible to hike the right side above the parking lot and then ski over to the park without getting caught. And even if they did see you hiking just say that you were gonna build a booter on the cornices. Once you make it to the park you'll be fine, everyone hikes, they wont check there.
 
srsly, super fucking easy super fucking fast. hike up from the back of the dirt lot by the old stone shack. fucking groomer pack for the hikers anyway. you can hike right to public or if youre a baller hike up to mhssc and make friends by helping dig at the end of the day. if you roll down from there with some people you can hop right on palmer w/o a pass and lap palmer. takes 20 minutes to get to the top of public if youre a fat fuck, 35 to get to the top of mhssc. hike in your boots, shorts and a tee shirt and pack everything else away so you dont get too hot. works to give your backpack to a buddy with a pass to bring up the lift and just hike up with your skis. dumb fucks who try to hike up right under mile or straight up the park get caught but they literally cannot kick you out for hiking up the hikers trail. be friends with park crew and one cares about your pass once you get up there.
 
Read what everyone else wrote Its pretty good info. Every once in awhile though I have seen people hiking features in the public park get asked to show their tickets. But in general its pretty mellow.
 
I'm the freestyle terrain manager for public park. If we see hikers we stop and ask to see tickets. If we catch you in he park hiking without a pass or tickets we will be charging you and or trespassing you from the mountain. We spends 1000's of dollars keeping the park running in the summer and poaching only hurts. Go a head and try. You're just going to end up spending more when we catch you.
