How long do your skis last?

Just wondering how long people's skis last...particularly if you hit rails regularly.

I bought new skis this season and by mid january one ski had edge damage underfoot and a delam at the tail. I'm going through hell trying to warranty it. I've now lost almost a month of the season.

sorry for the rant.

Name your last set of sticks and how long they lasted.

Thanks.

they suck ass so its no surprise to me, i have them and they are wrecked after one season. the foam core is unpredictable and loses pop sooo fast its not funny!!

bollocks to mate! the foam can get unevenly pressured throughout the ski which can create pockets of air thus causing soft spots prone to poor performance.

the foam is not injected...it's solid cut....and definitely inspected for air bubbles.

No different than saying a wood core ski could have knots in the wood.

I didnt intend for this to become a foam vs. wood core debate.

I was talking more in terms of rail damage, core shots, etc.

my madtrix have lasted into there forth season and show no signs of fucking up on me anytime soon.

no worries...the initial correction was a good one.

By the 4th or 5th post trashing foam cores though, I thought I'd step in.

For some more background...I spent about 3 days doing rails on my teneighty's, granted I was learning, but I wasnt smashing them around by any means, I actually feel I progressed really quickly, having no probs sliding tremblant's 48 foot flat down flat box.

I had edge separation under the heel and at the tail on the same edge.

Salomon repaired...I wasnt impressed, especially because the process took 19 days. I havent skied since january.

Now my skis are back and I'm making my second case.

Is this to be expected? I hoped the skis would last me two seasons.

i ski every weekend and usually ride em hard, and i skied my pes from 3 yrs back and this year i took a couple days out on em for rails and found that my bindings were starting to strip out of the ski... i skied them a lil to hard i think...

well, i normally destroy skis in a couple weeks or a month, and just ski on them beat for the rest of the season.. And i normally use a few tubes of Epoxy per season too, to fix delams and other things.

My 1260s lasted 73 days last year and had a little life in them. My ar5s dont look like they will last 73 this year, im at 52 right now with them.

my 2001 mad trix are still going strong (with hitting rails and boxes), a few shallow topsheet chips at the front and back, but no edge damage and no significant base damage. they might outlast my 06 arvs (i get 1-2 new topsheet chips per day).

My line darksides are in good concition after 3 years and i beat on them alot on the third season. I still use them in my backyard and stuff the edges are perfect and there is only cosmetic damage.

if you actually ski park they will last for a season before there are so many cracked edges and holes in the bases they wont slide anymore. i have brand new pe's and they are beat already, such a shame but hey gotta do what you gotta do

i have last years chronics they are holding up well i hit rails regularly no damage under foot just some delaming at the tails

it wasnt rail damage per se...underfoot it was questionable, but on the tail it was delam...they repaired and now the tail looks even worse after 1 day.

they are usually destroyed 3/4 of the way through the season but then i use them for the rest of it anyways. i get new ones every season

my chronics are on their first year with me but my boss who owned them before me last yeason did very little damage to them. now my bases are getting really bad edges are holding up. my top sheet has alot of nicks some to the core. picking up ar6 next season

06 invaders=4 hours

06 chronics=30 days

07 invaders=15 days still rideing

07 chronics=15 days still rideing

i am super rail heavy. the 07 skis are steped up soo much

my old blue 1080s are in their 5th season and still going strong. I hit lots of rails and no edge damage so far, still lots of camber left too.

1080's are the worst, i had a pair for like half a season, and the company was assholes with the warrenty.

4frnt MSPs are the most durable ski ive ever skied, cracked edges all over the place and yet NONE have pulled. they rock.

Head MOJO 80's are doing well so far.....two cracked edges in 2 weeks, so well see
