How long did it take you guys to graduate from college, Im a senior now, after this semester if everything goes well ill only have 15 credits left so should be on time. Only thing is im hoping to do a student exchange program to MSU or U of U (idealy), neither of these have the one required major class I have left to do. I've been thinking of still transfering then taking the one class online or at a different school and have the credit transfer back over. Anyone do something like this? and do you think its worth it?

5 years, did a semester in Budapest and graduated with my masters.

Stay in school as long as possible, not worth struggling to get a job right now.

Plattsburgh has an awesome selection of schools in their student exchange program. Schools in Colorado, Utah I think, a few in California even, some in Canada and even big schools like LSU. I went to PSU for three semester's, and let my cumulative gpa drop to 1.97. .03 under the required so I had to take a semester and got to the community college by my home. During that time a very close friend died so I stayed there and finished a 2yr program in Media-Comm. Since it was the middle of the year I stayed an extra semester and took more Business classes to transfer to where I am now. I'll be 23 in february but I'll also be a semester away from my 4yr business degree. What I'm doing after that I do not know but not everyone graduates in exactly 4 years. Though many of my friends do I feel like some of them have missed out on some excellent trips like IF3 for example. I've heard that the "4yr" degree on average takes more like 5 years. I've got nothing to support that but I believe it, lots of schools are setting new records for enrollment with so many people going back to school it gets harder and harder to get into the classes you need.

i'm 20 and i'm done school. but i'm going back in a few months to a program in australia.

Prob will take me 5 years, maybe even 6. But I don't really care, dad works at the university so I get free tuition, so really no extra damage done. Trying to go to med school so I have shitload of school left, but at the same time i really don't mind school at all.

I took two years, took three years off and I'm back now in my third year of classes. Hopefully I'll be done next year.

Hell ya i am trying to do an exchange to u of u too. I am supposed to graduate in 5 but am taking summer classes to drop it to 4 1/2. Hopefully

I transferred schools in undergrad, so it took me an extra semester. I did grad school in a year and a half though, so it all worked out to be "on time" in the end.

"why don't you graduate""I like it here" - Van wilder
And I graduated from high school in 2004 and won't be done with school until may 2013. stay in school the real world sucks man

its gonna take me 4.5 years of school, over 5 years actual time.

whatever schools fun, and ide stay in school much longer than i plan to if money were no issue.

worked all through undergrad and payed for everything myself. Now in Dental school and should be debt free 4 years after I graduate.

7 years for a 4 year program.

yup, i failed at the whole 'efficiency' thing.. but in my defense, i switched majors after year 1, took a year off, and was plagued by injury and time in the hospital, causing me to drag shit out even further.

life aint a horse-race. as long as you're settled down by 30, i think shit's geud. all depends on the person, i guess. i've never really had much ambition, or had a definite career direction, so i'm still taking time, working around, trying to get out there as much as possible and seize the opportunities that present themselves. all we can do is our best with what we're given, and make sure we're happy while doing it.

4 years: graduated, did a seasonal job and now I'm on unemployment.

stay in school. get your masters. there are no jobs!

I know a kid who's older brother has taken nearly every Gen Ed class at UMass Amherst and a lot of major specific ones too. Apparently he won some big lawsuit with the city and he's been going to school ever since. I suppose there are worse ways to spend your money.

5.5 years. Took a semester off and then added 2 summer semesters in there as well. I don't regret taking my time but I definitely found my summer semesters averaged a 3.4 gpa vs my winter semesters at a 2.0... snow was more important than my 8am classes.

It took me 4 years, graduated with a double major accounting/finance. Now I work as an accountant studying for my CPA. It's not impossible to graduate on time if you plan ahead and don't drop any classes

i think i went to uni in 04. left school pretty much after 07 year because my mom died. took the 08 off to heli ski/dishwash and commercial fish. now helping out with dads business. going back maybe next year if the money is together? 1 more year left, so i guess i was on track for a 4 year program which is standard. sometimes getting educated in the real world than the classroom is better for a person.

I'll be done when I'm like 23. (I'm currently 21) I dunno, that's okay I guess since theres no jobs right now.

I'm 19 and in 3rd year now, in a 4.5 year program which includes a 4-month exchange. I'm taking next semester off to travel, so it'll be 5 years total and i'll be 22 when I grad.
i'm glad I went to uni right after high school, I would have been so unmotivated to go back had I taken time off right after. I have a lot of friends that travelled right after grad and said they would go back in a year, but they're still just slumming and have no motivation

sorry, what was the problem there?

I mean it wasn't gramatically correct I guess but wasn't too bad.
