How long are your skis?

Yah that’s a lotta ski for that price, wish they had the powderboards for $499 but they’re under the next two categories at $649 and $799 still a steal but I’m now going back and forth between a protest and a -10 powderboard , 196cm ?wish they’d take custom art like Wagner, my daughter draws some awesome stuff would love to have her art on my ts

You can make a standard layup custom ski for $499. I just checked it out. Wtf. That is blowing my mind.

I havent skied superlong skies except SG last 20 + something years :p

SG at 210cm is a beast though and fun for maybe 1 day a year

dude I really wish I had a pair of GS or SG skis that I could bust out on days when it's just pure ice everywhere, just fuckin zoom around

I'm about 5'8.5" or 175cms tall ish. generally 160bs but topping 170lbs after covid lol.

Riding a 180cm BDog, 181 Kartel 96, and some old Bentchetlers in a 183.

And yes it was a mistake to buy 172 bdogs them things feel like rollerskates. Gotta land perfectly on jumps or you gone. Gonna cop some bigger sticks next season and shred hard?

Actually this tends to make you a better skier, landing center is important noodles or not.

Very true, I grew up on stiff skis so landing back seat was no big deal. After getting more into park skiing the last 2 seasons I realized I built a lot of bad habits and had to learn a lot of tricks again

Same, also played on some blends and I have bacons, it def helped me realizing that a few seasons back, haven’t trampolined myself into a front flip since

6'1 145

Moment Deathwish 190

Moment Deathwish 184

4frnt Devastator 186 (2021 so the shitty version)

J Skis Allplay 178 (pure jib ski)

Sizing skis for me has always been weird because I'm a twig, I'm retiring the 190 DWs next year because they have like 300 days on them, hardly any pop left, and I've decided 190 is too long for a daily driver. I only have three days on the 184s so far, but I definitely prefer the way they ski. The Allplays are in pretty horrible condition and I only break them out a couple of times a year, but I definitely enjoy spending time on short skis occasionally. The Devastators are a weird ski, stiff and light is a bad combo IMO, they get bumped around a lot in variable conditions, and they are too stiff to really compensate for that.

I really want to get some purebred charger ski in like a 195 probably around 112-122 underfoot. Maybe Commander 118, BO 118, or Faction thirteens if I can find em.

I’m about 5’11 on a good day(most days) and I ride a 179 mindbender 108ti and a 191 reckoner 122. The reckoners rip. Both skis have a similar length in camber because of the reckoners crazy rocker profile. Feel big at first but once you get used to em, no turning back. Looking at getting a middle of the road ski though like a 110 or 112 with a more playful stance than my mindbenders, but I mentioned this on another thread. Would most likely be in the mid 180s.

I'm 175cm and I ride

- Armada Thanos dog 177cm (175.5ish true size)

- Armada Edollo 180cm (177.5ish true size)

- K2 Reckoner 177cm (177.0cm true size)

- Faction Prodigy 3.0X 178cm (176.5ish true size)

On a ski with lots of rocker you would want to size up to keep them stiff, stay true to size for a softer more snappy ski.

That’s cool, can you elaborate- softer more snappy

No. That’s a common misconception. It all depends on the skis shape and profile and stiffness. On a ski with lots of rocker you would want to size up to keep them stiff, stay true to size for a softer more snappy ski. It just depends on how the skis shaped and how the rocker or camber is and how stiff or soft the ski is. And what your using it for

By snappy I mean more maneuverable, easier to snap or swish around or side to side

I thought this might be (kinda) relevant to this thread. Both these skis are about the same length (178 true length but a “traditional” 180/181) and they’ve got about 4 cm or so on me. I like the way the ski on the right fairs in chopped and soft snow and sometimes feel like I need to drive the toe harder for the ski on the left, but then I feel like I’m gonna get bucked over the handlebars. I finally put the profiles side by side. For reference, ski on right is 107, ski on left is 112. I can see why ski on right glides over chop better now.. I knew it was a difference but didn’t realize it was this big.

My powder/off piste in new England are 174 camox. My height is 170cm. My daily/ski patrol ski is a 168 camox. A lot of it is personal preference and ski shape/design.

That bucked over the front feeling in soft snow is why I usually go for something with rocker like the right ski that’s +10cm my height for more stability. Really not ideal in moguls or trees or tight stuff but I’m kinda scared of tip dive so I just make it work

Well I got them for trees but the tail is a bit too stiff for trees to pivot really fast so now I’m sol. Wish I got the 188 instead for float

6’ (183cm) 140-145 lbs.

Currently ride:

- 181 Magnus 90

- 181 Jeffrey 96

I have a pair of 186 Jeffrey 96 on the way. I’m really interested to see if NS is right about longer skis. The guys from ON3P told me twice that their gut would be 181 on the Jeffs for me (which have worked fine so far). However most of NS is in agreement that at my build 186 is the way to go. I will post results when I get a few days on the 186s.

My gut is that I can handle 6 extra cm, especially with the extreme rocker they have, their forward mount point, my speed oriented skiing style. On all mountain skis the most I spin is 360 anyway, and I don’t really do rails on em.

I have the 96s in a 186 and the 108 in a 181. The 96s are my daily and after riding them for so long the 181s feel tiny. I never feel like the 96s are cumbersome at all. Granted if I was on a smaller ski it might be easier to butter but that’s a trade off I’m fine with because of the stability. I’m also 5’10 180.

5'7" or ~170cm about 130lbs

Park Ski: Reckoner 102 177

Daily: M-Free 108 182

Pow/Tour: JJ UL 175 (wish it was a 180)

started skiing longer skis this season cuz free demos. long skis rail

Is it worth it??? Im tempted

I'd recommend 200-210cm SG skis over DH skis for skiing just skiing groomers. DH skis just have an unnecessarily long turning radius that feels unwieldly out of a course.

Depends on your experience, I grew up racing but as soon as I get on a fis rated gs ski I get my ass handed to me. It’s way more difficult to carve such a large stiff ski than you would think

I'm 6'1" and just got revolt 104s in 180 because originally scared off by the 188 but now kinda wish id gone with those.

Still not mounted tho so maybe there's hope of swapping.

If you know you know. At 5’12 (182cm) my shortest ski is 169cm. Under 1kg included bindings… my drivers is 185(tour), 189, 194 and 195. When you have the knowledge about your skills and your style og skiing you don’t have to ask about ski lenght!
