How light are the new ski boots?

Right now i have salomon 1080 foil ski boots i think 05 model and they seem so freaking heavy. i weighed one and it was 7 pounds. I like the boot and it fits great but i don't like how heavy it is and saw on salomon's website and it says there SPK line boots are lighter. Does anyone have one of these boots and could you tell me how much they weigh or is there a place i could find out how much they weigh. i would go to a shop and feel one for myself but the only one around here doesn't have any of those kinds of boots.

i have spks that are 2 seasons old.

they are soooooooooooo light you wouldnt even believe it.

I can only assume that they will be lighter for the coming season.

wooo!

yea if you want a light boot that fits like a glove then deffinately check into FULL TILT they're boots are amazing. And with all of their new technology i haven't heard a single complaint.

well that's good to know that they are that light. i have never heard of full tilt but i will look into them. what model for the full tilt should i get. i ride park all the time and powder when it is there.

well...he was talking about how peoples feet are different sizes so he can't say how it will fit other people.

But, full tilt has intuition liners so unless it doesn't fit you at all it should be a great fit.

All boots from all brands were built next year using NASA Lightfoot Technology using space age polymers, they now are even lighter than street shoes. Some weigh less than socks even.
Go ride a bike all summer or do some exercise.

not really...almost every boot fits differently(companies)/...

ex...u can put money on a lange (high end) fitting like a glove. they have a much smaller last and a very small toe box...

now i have never had on a pair of FT's but i assume that he is sayin that the boot fits snug...meaning a 27.5(for example) is going to fit alot smaller in a FT then it is in a salomon for example which tend to have a larger toe box.

why should i hold my tongue he is the one who said i should exercise and i was just letting him know i get pleny of that. i just want a lighter boot so i can do various tricks and rails with ease vs. my 14 pound boot setup. im not here to get into an argument with anyone just wanna get some info.

I think he was just stating that boot weight shouldn't make too much of a difference, but rather the way the boot fits....

Also, considering you made your account two days ago, have made 6 posts, and seem to have added every girl on newschoolers as your friend; perhaps calling out schmies, someone who brings up a valid point, oh AND ALSO MAKES ALL THE GRAPHICS FOR K2 SKIS, might not be the best move.

14 pound boots are a problem and you can squat 500 pounds?

i am not calling out anyone. i don't want to get on everyones bad side here since i think this is a pretty cool place to find out about ski stuff. sorry if i offended anyone. and yea 14 pound boots do seem rather heavy for jumping onto rails and doing 270s onto boxes and i can't wait till next year to see how much easier it will be with light boots.

Alpine boots will always be heavy, that's just the way they are. You can get something lighter if you go with a softer boot, but it honestly doesn't make a whole lot of difference. I have a pair of AT boots that are about 7 pounds lighter than my alpine boots and the only time it really makes a difference is bootpacking (or skinning, with other reasons). If you want to lose weight where it matters most get a light pair of skis.

That's why I said it was a great point that he made. He said that he doesn't know how the boot would fit, so it was pointless to recommend one.

I switched from rampages to il mororish boots. The cuff and id liner are significantly lighter but i didn't notice too much difference while riding. Besides comfort of course. Boots dont really effect swing weight too much.
