Yo, hoping on going up to Tuckerman Ravine this weekend, any locals know what the conditions are suppost to be like? and how is the hike? can we do it staright up in our boots, we don't need to get all hardcore mountaineering on this one, right?

It's about a 2.5 mile walk into Tucks... You wouldn't want to do it in ski boots i don't think, at least i don't... it's pretty flat tho

 
yeah dont use ski boots. you will regret it. just carry them and use some hiking boots. if you dont have them then I would say you are better off in whatever shoes you have than ski boots

hiking was a bitch, the snow was nice, kinda slushy but not bad, its hella hot tho, i mean i was drenched in sweat from walkin up, u could ski down about 1/3 on the sherborne trail, but it looks like u cant ski any farther at 1 point but u gotta take ur skis off and walk for a minute and u can ski down a lil bit more, the headwall wasnt in the greatest conditon but ok. the only thing is it was like 55 at the base of the ravine so hiking up sucked so much, but overall it was worth it

Tucks is sick right now. I went up on the 10th and it was insane. The only thing you need to look out for is ice falling off of ice falls. The hike is fine and you can ski about 1/3 of the way down. It is definitely worth your while to go

^^u couldnt build a jump prob

^im sure people have, but its very very avalanche prone cuz its so steep, and when its not avalanche prone, its either spring skiing, or too far early season

you could build a jump, but it wouldnt be worth it. you would be so tired after hiking and building it that hitting it would be a chore
