Im thinking of going to liberty at some point in the next week and i was wondering if it is worth it. Do they have any jumps up?

Jonesin for some rails so thinkin of hittin Liberty on friday morning (I live in DC area, unfortanately). Anyone plannin on jibbin a bit, let me know.

this weekend should be the best one so far. hopefully they will set up some of vertigo. does anyone know if this is going to happen?

yeah it sounds sick. this rain has been pretty heavy, and a friend who lives in fredrick who instructs there said it was raining at his house, which isnt too far from libs. hopefully the jam will still happen/ there will be base left. ill ask him, since he is usually in the loop.

I was there friday...the vertigo wall was setup on the park to the right of that shitbox lift. My thoughts:

The wall is prob the best feature they have.

kickers are decent but get soo chopped up by "team boardslide" as I call them

they could use more/longer down rails...or even just some flat rails that aren't boxes

Was thinkin of heading up next monday, the holiday...does anyone know how crowded it usual gets on mlk?

Really crowded... easily gets to 20+ minute lift lines. But if you only stay there say 9-12 you probably wont have nearly as bad an experience.

even for the tbar at the park? and can you hike the park? with a lift ticket of course, jut dont wanna spend my day standing around

Yeah the tbar just gets overwhelmed with goombas anyways, if you're sneaky though you can post up a little above where you get on it and wait until some noob drops it our misses there turn. And yes you can hike the park. Plus Vertigo could possibly be open if things go nicely this week

Send an e-mail to Adam at liberty (you can find his contact info on their site), He's the terrain park manager there and is open to all concerns. I agree about the lack of maintenance on the jumps. Unfortunately, I juts build em, I can't do much for em during the day.

you might see me up there.

ill be a whitetail more frequently.

if you see the black/white striped jacket+ dark green pants with TMs holler at me

Word, I'm the snowboarder in a light blue jacket and white pants with suspender sag, I'll be there saturday through tuesday this weekend

tryin to hit up liberty tomorow the site said the park is closed today for snoblowing or something will it be open tomorow? and anyone know what they have up

anyone gonna be up there for the rail jam on sunday?

might be up there then, or on monday cuz i have no school

you know i'll be there luke. the setup is supposedly gonna be so nasty (it always is for this rail jam), the feature they're revealing is a slightly up angled flat rail or box with wall-jib type boxes going down the sides, like an a-frame.

that looks dirty^

are you gonna be up there on monday? doesnt look like i can make it up tomorrow. well today i guess, but whatever

they need to shorten the knuckls on the 2 kickers to the right, i was there on saturday and only 3 poeple who hit it made it over

I missed the rail jam on sunday, but liberty's park has been pretty sick. Are they keeping the new feature or was it only for the rail jam?

The New feature should still be up there but we had to tear down the bomb drop for it. I will probably make it up there sometime this week and will regroom the jumps a little bit shorter. I keep em a little longer so that people are less likely to overshoot them. Ive seen 2 broken backs because people overshot the jump :(

2 broken backs at liberty, or in general? also, why not just make the lips more poppy, add some tang in there? that would make for more fun jumps, and allows for a smaller size too

1 broken back this year on the first kicker in west side, and a broken back 2 years ago in west side. All from over shooting the jump. I will test out the pop on them when i get up there to make sure it is where it is needed. Too poppy = snowboarders complain; Not enough Pop = skiers complain. The intial take offs where a little too poppy. When i rebuilt these 2 weeks ago, I had nothing but compliments

ha make one lip poppier for skiers and a less poppy one for snowboarders.

but on a more serious note, i hear the park at libs this year has been a huge improvement. haven't been able to make it up myself though to see what the deal is unfortunately, but i am looking forward to when i can

Hey coop, heard liberty's parks are pretty good, im glad you turned them around at the begnning of the season. One thing though is its hard to get speed for the larger jumps. Any way to move them down the hill any further. I know this would take some time but if so things would be super legit.

Yeah, moving it down Vertigo wouldn't do much at all since it gets flat right about where the jump is, plus it would start taking up a lot of space. If you start a little above the flat on the top of Vertigo, you can get plenty of speed.
Rail jam was incredible, I'm stoked to see what you guys put up for the slopestyle on saturday.

hit the park today, shitty conditions but the biggest table is a good hit, have to hike a bit above the trail to get enough speed but the jump is fun decently trickable, not sure what to think about the triangle box thing but there are some nice rails that with good jumps onto them could make a dope park

damn, went today and the new jump line on vertigo is so sick. are you guys planning on keeping the cannon/butter to down rail stuff up?
