How is lake placid ???

yo i like whiteface a lot its deffinitely the best mountain in NY, the park is pretty good this year compared to other eastcoast. Sometimes it can get icy, but I think its really underated
 
lets seeeee....Its out in the middle of nowhere, cold as fuck, bunch of hillbillies, cold as fuck, not much going on, cold as fuck, shitty night life, oh yeah did i mention cold as fuck?

seriously I used to live in placid...I went to what is now called National Sports Academy. Whiteface is one of the best mountains on the east coast. The problem is it is in the boooonies, is very cold (usually), can get to be quite icy, and the night life is pretty bad.
 
yea but the mtn itself isnt that bad i havent gone yet this year so im not sure how it is now but i heard they have a few nice jumps up
 
um as a town. 2 olympics. known as the winter sports capital of the world... madd good food. a few ski shops (maui north is alright, M&B is pretty good.

as for whiteface, its ok..
 
Brew pub is good...and one or 2 other places. However, it does not even come close to matching up against other ski towns. I personally like whiteface...the problem is if you are going for the whole package I think it is only middle of the road. I have lived in breck, tahoe, and currently Park City.
