How is Hood's public park right now?

Anyone been up there this week. I'm thinking about heading over tomorrow afternoon and I want to know if it's worth the 6 hour drive.
 
you should have went earlier in June, its doper then, alot more snow. I was just there :) It was wayy worth the 10 hour drive lol. The public park is dope, but shit was melting mad fast

If you skateboard, there is a park in sandy and hood river, just ask around to find them.

 
oh yea, when i left (June 16), they had the halfpipe and a jump after that and then a snow column jib after that which was sick. If anything its always fun to session the halfpipe and hike that for awhile if nothing else is open, they know how to make a good pipe there.

yea hood river is kinda far, not to bad, only like 30-40 minutes, i drived there everday after skiing to hit their park, its pretty fun. It didnt seem that far at all and i didnt give a shit anyway, i was on vacation !! It was cool to see a new area. I stayed in the tollbridge campground alot cause it was chill and quiet and they had showers (they were ghetto).
 
ehh govy didnt seem that cool to me. Plus i wanted to skate some clean shit with actual transitions and cool stuff to try and grind, pools, etc. I didnt want to chill in govy and skate a shitty flatground spot with gravel everywhere cause no one told me about anything worth skating in govy. Sandy's park is pretty shitty compared to hood rivers, but it is like 10-15 minutes closer.

ehhh you might be right, hood river is a bit of a drive. but fuck it, they got a dope park to check out thats for sure. That chinese restaurant right when you get into town is chronic too lol. They have a good skateshop in hoodriver too.
 
the public park isnt as good as the windells or highcascade park, but the sweet part is you can soo easily sneak into either of their parks, thats what i always do
 
the last of the wild west. govy is a lawless town full of scandos! the nearest cops are hours away and there are really no adults to speak of. i lived there last summer and saw things like a fire work almost killing a mexican 5 yearold, a drunk park crew dude driving his car into a crowd of casacade campers and a kid from alaska being thrown into a bag and beaten. theres more but thats just the icing on the cake. ps campers are hated for being rich spoiled and unaware that some people actually have to work to ski in the summer. govy life baby!
 
no pipe or kicker right now. i think they are beginning the process of moving it up the hill soon.
 
ya, they just got the pipe up last night and it was under vert. They are also building a 30/50 foot combo at the bottom of the pipe. fun. Def will be better when they move it up the mountain, I just got back from whistler though,and pub park in whistler gets blown out of the water compared to Hoods.
 
look at the entry pic of ian cosco severely caseing a jump with a switch backflip... why is that a cover shot? why not bushfields sw double back that he clears the huge jump? key word cleared.
 
cause casing a jump and doing a sweet switch backflip is cooler, we have seen double backs, casing is the new cool thing.
 
shit will be rocking soooooon. burton contest ended today, so once they have everything dialed, it will be dope.
 
ASJ Park open to public tomorrow. No changes will be made. Just moving the last jump take off in a bit. Come ride!

Govy is the shit because of the milkshakes in huckelberry's... i was there 2 months last summer, best summer skiing i have ever done.
 
govy IS the shit, everyone go swing by the burton place and play some wii, that shits sooo ill. and then give everyone working there a high five cause they kick ass. and then give matt on the park crew a doobie/beer for being the man. the other week when i went, i was there for like 5 days and only skied about a day and a half but had such a kickass trip (except the camera nad wallet ordeal). for those 21+, horseshoes in the back of charlies is fun as hell as well !

^its a town on the top of Mt. Hood exhisting soley for the reason that it is uber close to a bunch of ski resorts.
 
^so it;s free to camp at the airstrip?  or just some kids get in for free cause theyre cool like that...

either way it sounds sick and i really wanna go next summer

the new park is mad fun but i need to wax my beatskis cause i was straighting from right under the dfd and kept knukking no matter how hard i was popping
 
yea the butterflies are ridiculous 3 days ago was the worst i was bombing down the lanes to get into windells and got hit by a huge storm of them. every couple seconds 10 would slam full force into my goggles and face
 
my brother had like three hit him in the nose in the same run. one got trapped between my goggles and helment on the side.

and what are they doin up there anyways?
 
i was just up there on friday bro. the park is so sick right now!!! the jumps are orgasmicly smooth. i was up there with sammy carlson and tim durtschi. its legit. the public pipe is a little skied out but still fun definately worth it to go i want to go back.
