how hard is it getting used to new skis?

I switched from snowboarding to skiing last december so I've only really ridden one pair of skis - my AR5s. I have brand new 4frnt MSPs (free) and Troublemakers that both dont have bindings. Im gona sell the AR5s and take the bindings off the ar5s and mount them probably on the dynastars. my problem is that every time i consider going to the shop and getting them taken off my AR5s, I feel like I dont wana waste my ski trip getting used to another pair of skis, so i just ride my AR5s.

How hard is it to get used to a new ski in the park? especially one that is 15 cm longer? Cause i dont wana go into the park and 270 on and only make it 100 degrees because of my skis.

just got a pair of fujitives, it took me like a hour tops then i was back in the park

^hes right tho, u feel so outa control

build it, try it, huck it

at camp i tryed 3 difrnt skis and it took me like 1 or 2 runs to get used to them

but it is best to start the seasion off on a new pair if ur going to change them

pretty much once you've skied one pair, you've skied them all. i switched between my lines and PEs during the day at the beginning of the season and didn't really feel much difference at all.

I never really feel the difference...I mean, yeah they do feel different attached to my feet, but I always get them to go the way I want anyway, I ski 3 different pairs and have no probs switching even during the day (and the are different...PEs, Volkl V-Ski, and the infamous Airtwist)

i hope harvey bans you just so i can piss on your digital grave.

went from 160cm Salomon 720s (old school blue/white ones) to 179 PEs and i was fine after 2 runs... in fact, everthing felt much much better with the extra length, and the skis were totally kickass. now they fit me and I love them, but anyways, skis aren't hard to get used to

That's pretty much it. Oh yeah, I was going to write about how I was going to take away women's right to vote, but that one is pretty obvious since nobody wants women to vote, except for women, and they don't count. -maddox

my school mates always said that they would fuck anything that could walk. i never saw why i had to limit myself.

From ski to ski it's pretty easy. However, when I screw around on skiboards when i'm bored and then putting my back on, that fucks me up for an hour or two or skiing.

I ski two pairs a year, my mogul skis and my PE's. I usually start out on my mogul skis cause they're straight and harder to use, then on the second day I go to my PE's, which are easy as fuck to ski. I'm retarded, though, because it takes me a really long time to get used to a pair of skis. I think I program how to ski each pair of skis into my brain, and that's all it'll take. I dont need any time to adjust between my mogul skis and twins, but if I get a new pair of skis, it takes up to a day. At least one morning or afternoon. Flats are fine with anything, but I'm always a bit wary in the bumps and getting speeds for jumps right. I hate changing skis. Just go for it. It'll take you a few runs at least, but then you'll be golden.

you should get it in no time at all, the only difference you'll probably feel is from the AR5 or Troublemaker going to the MSP. the fatness is a little different. but really easy to get used to

I swithed from sticks to shaped. The change is ENORMOUS. But if you are good skier you can adapt quickly. If you are bad skier you will cross your skis a lot and die. THen eventually get used to it!

2 runs , u do feel kiinda outta contreol , but then the next time you go u dont kno how you could have ever skiied without twins.

i also used to snowboard, going back to skiing was the best decision i ever made. it'll take you a few runs to get used to them, but really most twins ski sorta the same - it's not like you're going from ar5's to tiny arse slalom skis or something. also, i switch between 154's, 160's and 170's without noticing. the only thing you notice is when you take your skis off and are amazed at how short/long they are.

it doesn't matter what kind of skis they are it only takes a few runs to get used to it. back when i switched from garbage (x screams) to something with a much better waist (pocket rockets) a few years ago, it took only 3 turns to get used to it. it shouldn't be a problem.

AR5's to TM's should be no problem for park skiing. I went from 169 1080's to 185 ARV's this year and that is a big difference. But AR5's and TM's are both park skis so it won't be a big deal.

I just switched today from 1260's to scratch BC's and was worried about the difference with the width underfoot but got used to it pretty quickly.
