How good was the snow this year

Its april 16th and my home mountain is still at 100%. There was so much snow this year on the East Coast. How is your mountain doing?

most are closed out here in Utah. Snowbird is still open and is pretty sick with like a 100'' base. Then we also have epic backcountry everywhere and just got 9 more inches last night in the cottonwoods. So even if our resorts aren't open... we still have epic skiing everywhere

Colorado snow was great after new years pretty much. But because we got so little snow the first half of the season, the closing dates are early. A-basin should be open for a couple more months though, which is cool

teh closing dates are regulated by the forest service...they would have closed the same day regarless.

i.e. crested butte closed with over a 100 inch base last weekend. breck still has tons of snow, they closse this weekend, key had lots of snow, they are closed.

nowhere in colorado closed early, they shut down when they had to.

Global warning...Here in Europe we're fine but thats just because we got a lot of glaciers so we can ski them pretty much whole year. And about 50 % of resorts are opened I think[most of them still have human-made snow(don't know an english word for that)].Have you got glaciers in colorado at all?

there is one, but it is hardly even a glacier by europe's standards. it doesnt have a ski area on it either, but there is a permanent snow field nearby that Eclipse snow park is gonna be on in a year or so.

well my mountain just closed with the deepest snow base they've had since like '02 and most of it was light fluffy pow

It was awesome this year but, it's going to shitty next year. If you have seen and "inconvenient truth" it says every year there is a cold winter and a warm one. They fluxate every year.

well the mountains in NY i go to are toast, but in VT they still have a lot of snow. Sugarloaf will be open until may 4th.

what are you talking about???

it pretty much snowed non stop in Switzerland for the past 2 months.

today it even snowed down in the cities...

you don't need to go to a glacier to ski now.

theres friggin heaps of snow everywhere and most resorts close either the 27th or the 4th.

ahhaha what a load of crap....

Who knows what next season will bring, but I can guarentee the worst season in the US will still be better than an epic season here in Australia :(

my mountain in AK just closed with 208" up top and more coming down. closing day was knee deep. they don't make any money if they stay open longer so the lifts are done running.

Pretty shitty. Around 30 inches, maybe 40 if your absolutely pushing it (in town where i usually ski). And I live in fucking alaska too :(

im sorry but that is not true by scientific purposes over the last millions of years, but yes next winter will either be far worse and far better

by the way al gore knows nothing he has worse affluenza than anyone else in the world

it dumped for 6 weeks solid in the alps. caught the front end of it, perfect light pow was what we came across for 14 days, couldnt really ask for more

Tell me about it bro, I've been up in Val Thorens all season, and the snow has been blower all season, the best season we've had in time.
It's still dumping up here, we had 14inches with bluebird yesterday, and snow not expected to stop until next thursday, with the resort now planning to stay open until the 15th... Crazy shit

yeah lots of snow records broken on the east coast i just wish i could have taken more advantage of it

France and Switzerland are doing so well, I was in Chamonix Last week, apparently the best snow they've had yet, absolutely amazing...

the snow in central pa sucked..normally we get atleast one decent snow fall..this year we might have had 8 inches all winter long...

Switzerland was epic this year. It snowed constantly from the beginning of March till the end of the season. It actually kept snowing after Laax closed and I left.

Things are open in New Brunswick, Canada, until May 4th. Unbelievable.

my home mountain was open from november 10th til april 13. not too shabby for northeast PA. though we didn't get much natural snow.

of the 4 winters ive spent in montana, this was the sickest BY FAR. the fresh snow really just didnt let up, all winter long

its good to hear how great of a year it was for everybody. It feels like summer now and the snow is going. I only have a couple days left at Jay and then a couple at tucks. But overall a great year. Hope next years is as good.

right now we just got about 25cm at louise. but for the entier year, i could shit on the ground and ski on it and it would be better. but i made the most out of what i had

pretty lame again. Last year was the worst year i have ever even heard of in Tahoe and this year it looked promising when it snowed a lot in january... but we have had only one storm since then and now almost all the snow in my yard is gone, which is sad.
Basically winter = january.
