How good is snowbird?

alright dude. if its the only place open in utah why not go and shred? it sounds fun to me to just be able to ski anywhere

I don't think there is a park, but I'm not from Utah. Just go skiing dude......I'd kill to shred the gnar in June. My season ended in march.

NO PARK... but you dont need one at snowbird... if you cant find shit to jib at snowbird all day, than you shouldnt consider yourself a skier

Is the park all you guys think about???
snowbird is sick and has great skiing.
i dunno if they have a park but as someone already said if you can't find something to jib at snowbird u shouldn't be aloud to ski.

I was there today, ther is no park but there are tons of sweet little jumps and stuf everywhere. I was surprised how much fun i had today.

snowbird is bad. really bad. bad bad. like, flat. oh and also there's a ski patroller posted ever 10 feet to make sure you ski in perfect figure 8's. damn well better not ever take those skis off the snow, they shoot avalanche cannons at "freestylers". you'll be drawn and quartered by a fleet of pisten bullys if you try to duck any ropes, and then they'll feed you to the man-eating antelopes that also live there.

in all, it's pretty shitty.

all u guys ripping on him for asking about park, fuck off.

its june, this time of year, conditions are usually pretty shitty, no new snow the good spots start to melt out and it makes for perfect conditions for a fun day in the park. and who gives a fuck if he asks about a park, its just as much skiing as free riding is. he didnt even say he wasnt going to go for park, he didnt even say park would be the reason, its just a question about the mountain.

I was up there today and it was super fun. We got like a foot of new snow over the week or something like that. There is just fun windlips all around and little drops to do. I think the passes are around 40. Check there website for that kind of stuff, but i highly recommend going.

Snowbird is very love hate for me. As an employee I ski there many times per season.

First off, I was skiing up there today and it was fun. I went way out this one traverse and got untracked freshies. In June. So that was pretty awesome.

On the other hand, its so frustrating that they don't have a park. Not every day is as fun as this one. In those cases it would be rad to hit a few man-made table tops and jibs. Notice I say manmade because Im sick of the snowboarder-chips-run-is-my-terrain-park hype. chips run is not a terrain park. its a long trail with lots of cat tracks to jump off and a few bro-built kickers here and there. its decent fun and challenging to jib in a more "natural" setting but its no substitute for an actual park with smooth, regulated take-offs and landings. you cant cork 7 a cat track. not to mention a few rails would be fun.

I think snowbird stands to profit if they built a late-season park with a few jumps and jibs over on baldy express. its wide open, not too steep, out of the way, and quite glacier-like up there this time of year. they could sell late season park passes and all the kids who are sad when park city and brighton closes can still get their shred on.

went up today, it was sooo fun, so many natural jibs/jumps you dont need rails and shit. I recommend it.

No man, snowbird and alta dont do part shit, have you not absorbed that from this thread yet? There are lots of natural jumps though

theres plenty of jumps and tons of little taps and hop overs... overall a lot of fun... was up there today and was surprised how good the snow was doing...

oh you forgot the best part. there's specially bred cougars that just got placed in the lodge, loaded to the brim with kids, ex-husbands, alimony, and every STD you can imagine. the breeding process has made them extremely aggressive; approach with extreme caution..... they have been known to pounce on unassuming fresh meat; aka newschoolers.

resorts?!? we don need no stinkin resorts!!!

put a lil effort into your runs, go shred the backcountry, still loads of good snow!
