how good do you have to be to go to coc? cuz i'm decent in the park but i don't wanna be the kid who sucks you know?

well since nobody seems to wanna help you and they think this thread is a big joke... ill step up.

as long as you have a decent amount of skiing experiance and feel comfortable in the air and hitting kickers and rails, you'll be fine. theres always someone there thats better than you, and theres always somone there worse than you.

just approach it w/ the attitude of a general love for skiing and a desire to get better and dont worry about what everyone else is throwin down, just have a good time and start w/ what you can consistantly stomp and work your way up.

If you're afraid of making a "fool" of yourself by probably not being as good of a skier as than someone else, don't be. There are always people who make fun of less talented or less experienced people in every sport, but I would imagine COC to be a place where there is a minimum amount of that kind.. This isn't a team sport, so you don't have to care what others think about your abilities, and besides, you're there to improve yourself and have fun!

Those who make fun of others are, in the end, ignored by others. Don't care about them.

im pretty sure you just need to be able to ski down a run well... they can teach you the rest...

they just dont want kids on rental skis who have no idea on what the hell they are doing

Ha, we actually get this question a lot! To ease your fears, almost 50% of our campers are novice park riders.
Don't worry about feeling like you'll suck and people will make fun of you. That doesn't happen and if it does, the person is quickly shut down and put in their place by one of our pro shreds. We don't tolerate that kind of crap.
Let me know if you have any other questions and we hope to see you next summer!

Don't worry about your skill. Just go. Around half the kids who go there are just learning the basics. It's a really chill atmosphere and you'll learn so much.

Dude just go! It will be the time of your life. I've gone for three years and it gets better each year. My first year i was nervous but the vibes are just so positive and no one cares if you are good or not. The coaches are chill and helpful too! I learned backflips before I learned 360s there! Go to camp!

they steal their parents credit cards

not my style but i know a lot of kids who are always doin that

i went to high north when i could only do 3s off a 10 foot jump and slide boxes not even rails, but it helped me sooooooooo much and now im doing a whole lot more claim

i might be going to coc this year i can 3 and such but at the hill in my town, there are like 0 rails 2 TINY tables 1 kicker that is prob like 4 and half feet maybe you will go like 6 feet if you hit it fast enough , and i was wondering what sized jumps there would be like what size hte small and the medium sized jumps are about in the summer park im sorry if it doesnt really make sence !

They have tiny jumps all the way to massive jumps... like 5ft tables up to 70ft tables or so. You could learn your first 180 or your first double flip. Don't worry cuz at CoC they have something for every ability.

k thanks this year if igo to CoC i would like to hit at least 10-15 foot kickers witch would be conisdered probley "small" but form my town where the biggest kciker is 5 feet, 15 would be quite big but thansk for answering me question

I really wanna go to CoC this summer. This ill be my first year learning park though. I've been all mountain twinning for a few seasons and this year i got myself some parks skis

If your afraid of people making fun of you then just work hard to get better. Dont be the guy that is always hella shy and the last one to hit every feature. just work hard and ski as much as you can, people really respect that.

i dont know about you but i love skiing with people better then me, u learn so much and when u see them throwing down it makes you want to too (within your capabilities of course), imo. dont know about you guys.

as long as you can make it to the end of a box regardless of style and throw the ugliest 360 you'll be ready to go. Once you start to get those basics, you should be able to achieve much more progressio in your session than if you had to learn how to slide a box and throw a 3 during your session.

when I went to momentum for the 1st time I sucked

didnt own my own skis

cud barely slide a box

cudnt 3

I got sooooooooooooooo much better since then and during my time there

They also put evryone in groups by skill so I was with people who were doing the samethings as me

I'm assuming COC does the same so you would be in a groups with other beginners who are at the same level as you

Coc in 2010 for 2 weeks, Going to be so sweet I cant wait. I'm not that good at the park but you go to get better don't you :D

I was scared about being a noob when I went to camp last summer. The kids at my hill were probably better than the average skier in my camp so I didn't have to worry about being the biggest noob in the group. But don't worry about that. Once you're at camp you will be so excited you won't care if you are the worst skier in your camp.
