How fast do YOU progress?

How long has it taken you to get to your current level of ski ability. Why?
What is your current level of ski ability?

I've been skiing for a year now. I feel like i've progressed pretty quickly for my level of ability. I can ski almost all terrains now short of slaying the moguls and shredding through the trees. Stoked to learn how in the coming weeks. I'm not too hot in the park, just getting into basic spins and the more complicated rails.
I'm interested to see how quickly my fellow ns'ers have progressed.

i progress hella fast when i try things.

i can throw 7s and 9s but grabs with spins are always the funnest.

when i was little i learned how to ski very fast and took to difficult runs in no time at all. but a couple years ago when I wanted to get into park I ended up needing surgery on my foot so that had slowed down all progression.

this year i'll find out how fast it takes me. very stoked for hitting some jumps.

i progressed at what i would call a reasonable rate. after 4-5 years i could do 9's forwards and switch, but i found when i started competing i didnt progress as much because i just worked on the tricks i already could do so i could perfect them.

progressed pretty fast for freestyle until about 3 years ago, practically started progressing at the pace of a snail

im 16 and i kill all mountain but im not gonna lie i freakin suck at park. dont know why i just would rather ski powder and hate eating it on cold metal poles. Does any body else suck at park? o and ive been skiing for 12 years

me too man, exact same situation. Grew up not having any park whatsoever. Got a pass to PC this year, getting ready to step up rail game.
I think I progress fairly quickly.

this is how i am. not pow really because i'm on the east coast but i find myself pushing it more in the trees and more natural stuff. I never really try new stuff in the park. I'll usually go though and couple times a day and do a few rails but nothing crazy.

as for progression, I've kinda plateaued. Mainly because, like i said, i never try new shit. but i got to the level im at fairly quickly. gonna step it up this year.

i started doing park last year after 12 years normal skiing. the park at my mountain sucks but by the end of the season my best trick was a 5

yea i progress super slow in the park, but have been slaying the hardest terrain there is on my mountain since i was 8 or 9.

been skiing about 7 months now. I can do all spins up to 5, most inverts up to 5 (rodeo, misty etc) most handrails, but not tech stuff. however I am not as progressed in all mountain riding, due to my mountain is pretty much an all mountain super park with almost little to no steeps.

started shredding at 15 monthsstarted walking at 18 months (according to mom)currently 21 years olddo the math..i guess im ok, if your so interested in 'what i can do' , you can find me ripping east coast

I fucking suck. I've skied since i was like 8, didn't start park til three years ago. First time i tried a rail i pretty much fractured my hip, so i've never given it a real effort again. I can 180, can't quite 360. I enjoy all mountain stuff more. This year though, i'm changing that. Getting 3's down my first day in the park.

I started two years ago and never really learned how to ski just jumped straight it into park cause thats what my friends skied. My first day i could barely ride and i was hitting small rails and stuff. Now on rails i can do all 4 switchups all 4 270 outs and 4 out of the 8 kfed thingys, and 270 on to almost anything besides urban. On jumps i can left 1,3,5 with grabs and right 1. This year i really wana focus on learning the basics of skiing and alot of pow and tree skiing.

so ive been skiing now in general for about 2 seasons and last season was my first season with twins and i went about 30 times. where as the my first year was only around 7 times. as of now i can do 360s, nose butters, slide rails and boxes. blind 270 out and also i can do blindside sw ups.

i try to learn something new every day, but more to the point it has taken 16 years of skiing to get to where im at now, and now i almost feel more comfortable on skis then walking

I don't really like rails, I've done a 450 on like once. I like jumps, but more the floating feeling so as of now I'm okay with 180s and 3s. I think I'd like jumping off cliffs more, but we have very few. I do want to progress a lot in the pipe. I think I get decent air, I've gotten a few cheers from the lift. Honestly I'd be okay with a few stylish grabs in the pipe with a lot of air, as long as it's fun.

As long as i'm having fun I don't care if I don't learn 5s until 2 years from now. The moment I don't find a 180 or a 3 over a jump fun, well, time to do 5s.

So final answer; slowly.

^im the same exact way

but within two days ive been able to hit tiny 10 foot jumps with confidence and ski switch pretty well. ive only spent about 2 days in the park my whole life. Every time I go in to learn I get bitched at by boarders

Benn skiing since I was two, now I'm 17. I started to dabble in park last year. I raced from when I was 7 to when I was 15. Last year I didn't do much skiing. I can generally kill it on the mountain, but I kinda suck at park. I'm hoping to progress a ton this year.

Im 15 sking 4 years, at the end of last season i started park, and now i can almost 9 with a grab,

Im 14 and raced til i was 13ish but spent a little time in the park and in like half a season learned how to to everything up to consistent 7's and occasional 9's and switch 3's and 5's. But last season i just did rails and I could barely learn anything on them. Pretty frustrating going from progressing fast to not progressing.

thats pretty hard to beleive dude, but whatever. thats sick.

im 15, been skiing since i was almost 2, started park two seasons ago, and can 3with grabs, sw 270 on pz unnatty 270 out. but last year i didnt really learn anything new, just worked and perfected on what i knew.

well i should say ALMOST 9 with in a few weeks il have one, but just learned back flips and cant do shit on rails.

been skiing 3 years have learnd cork5s fronts, backs. reodeo 360 sw180 (spelling) just go out and try new things and have fun

i try to learn something new every day even if it is just a new grab with a 360 or somethign simple like that. i feel i have a few good tricks that i've just kinda naturally progressed into the last maybe 5 or 6 years. don't rush anything, because the worst thing that can happen is you get hurt and can't enjoy being on the hill anymore. trust me i've spent nearly 3 of the last 6 seasons sidelined. sucks.

I am 17 and have been skiing for 15 years, I can do switch 10's, cork 10's, dub cork 12's, all 8, and most off axis tricks spinning left.

16, this season will be my 3rd and most say I'm ridiculously good for how long I've skied. Lollerblading probably helps!

I only have a total game time of 15:00 and my Charmeleon is lvl 36 which is right around when he becomes charizard fuck yeahhh

I'm currently 17, learned to ski at 14 but my 2nd season i blew my knee and was out for the season.

progress crazyyy fast overall, my first season towards the end i could go down almost any run in front of me, trees, moguls, switch etc, then got into park towards the end of my 1st season skiing.

now im not the best but hoping to step mah game up this season. switch 3's in jumps and 1 pretzel combo on boxes ( havent tried it on rails yet) are my best tricks i would say.

I'm pretty insatisfied with my park skiing skills.

I've been skiing on a regular basis since I was maybe 14? I'm 17 now and I can kill all mountain stuff. Steeps Im pretty good and any "tough" groomers. I'm alright in powdah.

In the park I can pretty much clean any rail (given some time to master it), FS 2 out of most, BS 2 out of most flat rails, FS 450 if im lucky. BS switchups but those dont really count since i only really do them on boxes that are like 5 inches off the ground...

Jumps-180s. Used to be able to do backflips and 3s but I kinda pussed out a lot last season.

This year I wanna get flat 5's down and basic spins.

only ever spent 1 week on a mountain, by the third day i was confident with parallel on reds, did a few blacks and ventured into the park where i got over the red jumps.
now i got myself kitted out and after a few trips to indoor snow domes i've landed a few 3s, done rails to switch, butters and my switch riding is getting to an alright standard.
so i suppose i'd like to think i progress kinda fast but i have a massive tendency to learn quick but plateau quick with sports.

Started taking park skiing seriously last season, i learned just a 3 and some rail shit.

My goal for this season is to learn back and front flips, Grabbed 7's, Rodeo 5's and cork 7's, and some fancy rail stuff.

i've been skiing for 15 years, i'm 17, and i've gotten a lot faster the past 2 or 3 years. i also started racing which progressed my skiing a ridiculous amount

i started when i was like 6 or 7. then quit after a year cause i didnt like going fast. then i was a really bad ski blader in middle school and quit. skiied again for the first time last year (16) and i just started hitting rails

I am going on my 6th year skiing in the park, 15th year skiing, and I can do 7's and almost any rail, 270's out both ways. Lately I have been progressing quickly. Last year I progressed more than I did in the 4 previous years combined. I fell like this year I will progress alot more too. Every year I get more gutsy and less nervous, still nervous but more willing to try. I can't wait for this season. In my first day I already progressed.

I progress extremely slowly and I lose tricks fast if I don't practice. I always learn something at the beginning of the season, but rarely in the middle or the end.
