How fare to Whistler?

Just wondering how far Whistler is from Bellingham. How are the customs/ border patrol people? Is it a relatively hassle-free trip w/ out a passport? I'm considering moving up there around Christmas.

Yeah it's 3-4hrs depending on time of year and traffic and the route you go. Border can be a hassel, Don't do through the main one ( Go the truck route 3 miles before), plus you have to have a passport now( or at least you did not too long ago). You used to just go with a license but I know for a while it was id and either passport or copy of birth cert (2 forms). Also if you have anything on your record (misdorminor or felony) no way! My budy And I went up there for a day trip and they wouldn't let us in cause he had a misdominor on his record from like 8yrs ago.

A passport will be required starting in 2008. If you don't have a passport, until then you can get through with a driver's license and birth certificate. But a passport is easiest, and just a good thing to have (they're only like $60 so go get one).

depending on the border and the road conidtions it takes about three and a half hours to drive from bellingham to whistler. the border is a toss up, sometimes i don't even have to show id and im in with three questions, however other times i am there for a few hours with dogs sniffing me crotch and dea taking panels off my car and taking my subs apart, etc. its a toss up, it really is.

All I need are some tasty waves, a cool buzz and I'm fine.

yea, just have id stuff, dont play music, and try not to go across at peak times (friday evenings, sat evenings, sun evenings), but it can be a toss up. if you go through vancouver during rush hour - have fun, the traffic is worse than seattle. the road to whistler can be quick, but if you get stuck behind assclowns, then you go slow on the turny parts and fast on straight sections.

but yea 3 hours if its good to whatever if its bad

oh god, i love the people that drive big SUV's and pass you in the straights, and then go like 20 through the twisties and you're on their ass.

coming back last decemeber with Cindy and her dad in my car (her dad owns more than a handful of ferraris, and has had performance driving training, etc) he kept complaining about them, hahaha.
