How exactly do you do a shoe?

My friend and I were talking about this last night, do you pour the beverage straight in the shoe or do you put the shot glass in the shoe?

All IF3 veterans please inform us less knowledgeable individuals
 
pour it right into da shoe. the worst i've had to do was out of a damp, smelly, linty snowboard boot.
