How does one lock skis?

put your skis upside down(its normally easier), put the wire through your breaks then around the ski rack, lock.

silly.

Stick it through the hole between the metal rod part and the heel piece of the brake

and then someone can take off the brake with ANY screwdriver, including the ones the mountian provide

you know what a better question is, what ever happened to free ski check? i remember when i was young going to the mountain and at lunch we'd check our skis in with a couple guys who got minimum wage to hang out and check peoples skis in and they'd give you a card with a number and when you want your skis you give em it back and they give em to you.

I guess the mountain couldnt afford that anymore so they just got rid of the position and replaced the workers with poorly trained parking lot and lift line attendants who don't know how to command the flow of traffic.

i think the just the sight of a lock deters thieves when there are hundreds of other unlocked pairs sitting around

because they know if they spend more than 5 seconds getting the skis from the rack, people will know whats up. if you are unlocking it and they are yours, its one thing to take a while, but the fact that they could get called out deters them
