Oh man, ahah. First you gotta be fucking good like top 10 on youre mountian, and if youre not don't even think about going pro. but if you happen to be get a sponser and then if youre sponser thinks youre good enough they will have you on there team and then one of the main riders (if youre good), then youll film with them , and you gotta give it youre all. Then youll eventually get more sponsers if you get better, and eventually youre sponsers will ask you to compete for them , first small competitions then big ones (the x games).

there you go , but next time ask a smarter question , and maby you won't get laughed at.

in my opinion, i don't think you should even try to think about being pro, just do your thing. if your good enough you will be noticed an gain connections. if you think you could do well in a comp, try. but don't think about becoming pro, it may drive you insane and send you on a killing spree in Madagascar

you have to try really hard and pour all of you time into it and work at it every day. every time you go to your mountain, do 1 warm up lap through the park. then just hike all day. do some progressions(first throw natty and unnaty 180s, then natty and unnaty 3's) keep doing those until you reach at least 900. then work on your rails really hard. once you get it all down, throw style into them or refine the style you already have. Then, go on to more difficult stuff. just work at it bro, thats what im doing, even though im not dwelling on ever becoming a pro. I just want a sick film seg in my friends movie.

alright buddy, in a minute what it takes to be a pro skier, amazing public relations, knowing the right people, meeting the right people, having a good image, winning when everyone else has a name and you dont, repeating the last one, filming with everyone you can, traveling more than you want, and most of all working your ass off more than everyone else.

most pros have a real naturaly talent, there arnt like steps you just do, example, derek spong, i was skiing in comps with him 2 years ago, bigest switch spin was a 5, next year at the open switch 10s

to be a pro, you must learn the following:

360 mute grab

dspin 720

switch on flat rail, 270 out

1080 iron cross

switch 900 mike nick luikang.

those tricks will get you everywhere.

 
first off, its cyanide, not sionade....the communal spelling ability of this site is as equal to that of maybe a retarded batch of kindergarteners. and secondly...if you want to go pro, yeah, you get free gear....but you also have to go around competeing in as many events as you can, getting your name out. it doesnt matter if youre not feeling it one day, if theres a comp, youre fucking doing it. sponsors are not nice people. unless youre super pro and all your friends are pro enough to go with you, then youre friends are going to suffer, your personal life will suffer, and ultimately it takes away the best part about skiing: going around and having a good time. a sponsor tells you when and where to ski, when to do it to make the right shot, pose like this for pictures, wear this.....how about you guys start thinking for yourselves and go ski some powder

 
wow, you people have lost all skiing hope. u will never do it, if u look for it. MOst people who say... "How do i become pro" don't really enjoy skiing for what it is. A way to chill with your friends, fuckin chill out from your job and your life. Fuck going pro, and fuck all you pro hoes. Enjoy skiing for skiing. U don't need to be a pro to enjoy it, and if you do, you shouldn't be skiing.

^ perfectly put. sponsors sponsor an image, not the rider. the best skiers in the world are the ones who arent sponsored. they rip it up elsewhere in the backcountry. how many 60 year old guys in 40 year old gore-tex and 1976 225's do you see being sponsored these days? none. why? because its not "COOL" or "EXTREME" to sponsor those guys, even though they rip anything better than just about anyone else. but they dont get sponsored because they dont have a Helly Hansen or North Face or Sessions jacket on.

 
enter small comps at your local hill, go huge and win. then try and get a few small sponsers like local ski company, small drink, some rich people. then go into big comps and get podieum then you'll turn "pro" cuz people will see that shit and be like who are his sponsers? wtf? lets get you with some good people then youll rake in the cash

why do you guys even worry abouy becoming pro. If youre thinking about it too much your not haveing fun anymore. I try to just go out there and ahve fun. Isnt that why you are skiing in the first place. Cause man if its not, tehn you need to reevaluate the facts and if you are really having fun with this sport. Skiing is the best because we have fun at it, once you start looking at things like becoming a pro and get lost in it all, then you start to wonder.

make skiing more accessible and affordable and skiing would progress......im so tired of you little rich kids thinking you are the shit. you're not. even if you're the best on your mountain, big deal. there are tons of athletes out there who can't afford to be on the hill everyday, but if they could, they would kick your ass.

and stop acting like fags. skiing isnt cool. and neither are you. baggy clothes and fake accents just make you look even more retarded. the tanner halls out there make snowboarding look so much more appealing.
