How do YOU rate karma?

Im currious, how do you guys use the karma system? Do you give 10's immediately when you see a good post, and 0's when you see a bad one? or do you just lower/raise it by 1 point every time? And do you rate every post in a topic, or just some?

I rate solid contributions, and i will negatively rate bad contributions.

More often than not, i'll rate someone a 7 or 8 if they offer some great information.

If i know someone is an overall great member then they are probably a 10..

I don't go through threads and rate the posts, only when something stands out to me, do I give karma
 
ya if something stands out I will rate them, what I usually do is just give them a flat 0 or a 10. Its dumb and Ive started just knocking off one or two points at a time, because Ive found out Ive given decent members 0 before and cant remember why.
 
If they make me laugh, +2 or +3

If they say something stupid, -2 or -3

If they're a solid member overall,10

If they're a douchebag/consistently hating/wasting web space, 0
 
if someone starts cool, thought provoking threads, or uploads alot of sweet music, or is a phish fan, i will give them a 10.

if someone is a totaly jackass, either just always posting pointless drivel, or outright hate or negativity, they will get a 0.

i dont rate much in the middle.
 
I give a lot of 10s. 7s and 8s just don't raise somebody's overall karma enough, and drastic changes in karma are more rewarding than slight changes. I guess it's not quite what the system was designed for, but I think more visible and drastic karma changes promote better contributions.
 
i give so many people karma. i give pretty much everyone a 10 and if they suck later on they get a 0 but they can always stil redeem themselves by getting a 10. i rarely give out 2,3,4,5,6,7,8 and 9s im usually too lazy to think about how much to give them
 
if someone says something funny/nice/helpful or i just like them i will give 10s

i give lows for ppl who are just plain assholes at uncalled for moments but those moments do make up NS so occasionally they will get a karma boost
 
if i'm going up i'll just go to 10, down mostly zero but sometimes a 2 or 3, if the person really pisses me off i'll just go to zero, if they help and are a chill person, 10, if they make a good post, 8
 
if i think someone is constantly encouraging a grow in the sport by means of spreading knowledge videos and pictures i will usually give them some respect by eithier pm or feedback section (cause its most underused section of NS)
 
for some reason, i have always just done straight 10s or straight 0s. but whenever i give negative karmz its because someone has really really pissed me off so that doesnt happen too much
 
also, if i see soneone with like 5 posts and 0 karma, or whatever, someone obviously brand new to the site, i will almost always give them a fat 10 to get their karma started
 
i gave you 10/10 for offering that ride out west today because that was damn decent of you.

usually if they are complete morons, i take a point or two. if they say something intelligent (despite my opinion on the content) i add a point or two.

hahahahaha, werd. I do feedback for the best, but I try to avoid doing it for the bad unless they're just stupid.
 
usually if i see something pretty helpful, ill rate them a 7 or 8, if i see i already gave that person karma before, they go to 10. if i see something worth negative karma, it goes to 0. or if i just see a person thats chill as fuck ill give them 10 regardless
 
I usualy give 10s for good helpfull answeres that contribute to the site because I want to make an acutual difference like they did with posting the thread. If later in life this person gives a weak answer that is a bit insulting I lower his carma only by one or two because I see I rated him well for a reason. Anyone can be redeemed. I rate zero for being a douche and I rate between 6 and 9 for funny content..... i mostly wing it though
