I have a shitty camera, and the only port it has is an S-video port. I want to know how to get it off my camera, to my computer to edit....and the if possible, get the edited material back onto a tape in my camera.

I hope that wasnt confusing...

You'll need to get a transcoder of some sort that has a s-video input/output. Make sure whichever card you get also has some sort of audio in/out as well if you want to capture audio.

Check out Omen Productions

from what i know about computers the s-video you have is only for output so you can put your computer screen on say a tv with s-video but you cant put video onto your computer from s-video. Thats what i know and i might be wrong if so let this dude and me know.

you can get cards that go both ways, but you might want to look at getting a bridge, dazzle makes a few good ones.

Snowflake, right on baby, right on.

Alright this is how to do it without spending 200 dollas on a gay card, first u drill a hole in the bottom of ur monitor. Then u pcut one of the wires, doesntm atter which one and thread it with the svide cable and then jus put the s vidoe cable in the hole u drilled.
