you need all kinds of stuff such as special drill bits, jigs for propor hole placement, a chart to tell you how to adjust your din settings, ect.

just have the shop guys do it cause you would most definetely fuck it up

take the skis and bindings and bring them to your shop

Ya..it's just as easy to take them into the shop and have them do it for you...therefore if anything goes wrong, it's not your fault

I just took my skis to a shop today to get my bindings mounted. I was deciding on doing it myself but i had the 25$ in my hand so i just took it to the shop. just take them to a shop so u have no worries about screwing something up. Im sure ita harder than it looks if it costs 25$ for me

well, you CAN mount your own... my friend does it. But then he used to work in a shop. So that would be why...

25 bucks to mount skis!! It only costs me 10 cheap canadian bucks!

if u buy skis from a shop, they'll mount them for free or maybe like $5 or $10.

dude...if you don't have the proper jig or the right drill bit (and they are all different for every type of binding), you will fuck your ski up. Pay the $30 for the peace of mind of having it done right. At least if they fuck up you will have your skis replaced.

''How do you mount skis?''

Hahaha, thats just golden. Can you imagine this kid at home, in his garage making ''Speed Holes'' (ala that episode of the Simpons were assains are after Homer) with his dad's Black&Decker.

''Mom!'' he shouts from the garage

''Yes dear.''

''I figured out what I want for Christmas.''

''That's great! What is it?'' she asks.

''Another pair of skis.''

haha...its not at 'at home experience'

its really easy, just without the proper equipment its near impossible. You need a drill, proper drill bits (that only allow the bit to go so far into the ski itself), the proper jig for the binding hole pattern, some good glue, and a torque drill

1) place the jig on center mark (the mark denoted as 'center' on your skis

2) determine the right hole pattern for your bindings using the jig

3) insert your boot and size the jig to your boot sole length

4) drill holes

5) remove jig, place small drop of glue in each hole

6) screw bindings in

7) do it all over for the 2nd ski

that is the 2 minute explanation, but trust me...have a shop do it...i can mount skis but it still scares the shit out've me...too much to risk fucking up
