How Do You Lay Out Backflips?

Whip you head back first, keep your feet and your legs relaxed so they lag behind, which should be easier because skis and weight to your feet. Spot your landing and then let your legs come around when you need to.

If you want to have a good, layed out sSeth Morrisson looking backie, you need a big and lippy enough jump. Come in with plenty of speed, and pop hard and up on the takeoff. Dont whip your head back. Lean back slightly on the takeoff to set your rotation, then once in the air, reach backwards with your head and bend your knees. If your jump is big and lippy, and your set is good, then you should float around and spot, then pull your feet under you and stomp. Dont forget to ride out for a good 200-300yards for good steeze.

Literally do what you do when you tuck them but just lay out... Just like on a trampoline. Once you lay them out you will never tuck one again.

Do not throw your head and sling it, take it from a mogul skier when I say its all in the hips, you can still arch it out and do big lays while looking but push with your hips, not your head or back.

people say not to whip your head back because they think youll hit your head but its probably one of the easiest tricks to do. just pop hard off the lip and lean back and look pretty far back and youll spot your landing almost instantly.

Right on. Let your feet come in front of you and when they reach the horizon start to look back for your landing. Spins and flips are set with your hips and not your head or arms.

I gotta say, when I was first trying laid out backflips, it's a good thing I was wearing a helmet. I didn't know it was possible to kick yourself in the back of the head that hard.

Definitely done that one. I got my tail stuck under my helmet and almost panicked, but I got it out and landed.

This may sound stupid, but can you do them on tramp? I know people who can't lay out backflips on tramp so therefore when they try on snow they instinctively bring there knees up.

Yeah I can lay them out on tramps. Is it the same technique on a tramp as it is on skis? What I do is I push my hips out, arch my back, and lean my head as far back as possible, and they look really nice and laid out.
