How do you know if you had a great ski day?

Here are some of the feels I get after a great ski day, compared to just good

- Vivid replays of specific runs right before falling asleep.

-Tough getting my jeans on cause my legs feel swole.

-Doesn’t matter what I eat/drink at Apres cause got so many runs in.

-All worries seem diminished

Did I drink plenty of beers? Did I do enough runs? Did I get some wild turns in? Did I fucking send some steep shit? Did I not get totally broke in the park?

= winning

When you end the day not wondering if you could have done more.

When going first to last chair seems like nothing.

When you huck something or have a great run and are super stoked after it. Having a bunch of those. Or doing something new and nailing it.

In general you just know. It's a feeling. I've had ice and pow days that I was super stoked after. But a pow day always takes the cake.

If I'm riding in sunnies, beard caked in snow, a little tipsy, and smiling so hard it hurts. From a good park run, blasting some trees, getting some fat turns in or just bumping fast. Riding with friends usually gives bonus points to stoke level.

If I am out on the hill its unusual to not have a great day. Each ski day is a bit different. The other week it was well above freezing after 18 inches of fresh snow fall. I was super bummed that it wasn't a blower pow day like I was expecting. Ended up drinking beer and skiing groomers with some new friends. It still was a great day

when i take my boots off at the end of the day and my feet hurt so bad because I was hot-lapping too fast to even think to unbuckle my boots on the lift.

when i take my balaclava off and rub my face real good for a few seconds and it feels better than sex.

-when your knees are sore from doing bumps

-you did a run/trick you never did before and did it smoothly

-feet are sore after taking of boots

-theres a little moisture in your boots

-Learn a new trick or hit new rails without completely destroying yourself

-Ski all day

-Ski with some new people

-Good mix of park and flying around the mountain

when the wild side of your brain is totally satisfied and all you want to do is chillllll now

or, in my case, i can always tell im satisfied because i don't speed on the drive home haha

If its a really good day I subconsciously look for side hits like im still skiing on the drive home

After I'm done skiing I like to ask if I slashed some turns and got a little sendy, chances are I did, so then to cap off another day skiing instead of doing somehthing else less fun than skiing, I have a few beers and head home. Its a wonderful thing

Pow day: Did I send it as hard as I could every lap?

Groomer day: Did I get the perfect slash at the bottom of the slope?

Fuck around day: Did I fall at least a few times trying shit I have no right to even attempt? Did I land something new?
