So I've got a t3i with the stock 18-55mm lens. I plan to save up for a sigma 10-20 or tokina 11-16 but wont have the money this season. What do you guys think of wide angle lens converters for a temporary solution?
just use it at 18mm, it is pretty wide already, and anything that will give even moderately tolerable footage would set you back towards saving for an 11-16
Yeah I'd say just make do with it at 18mm as well. A lot of people fuck up their shot by shooting at 11mm or something and not getting close enough to the rider, looks shitty to me.
I actually have one for the exact same set up. I used it for the last half of the season last year and it isn't too bad at all. I got it for like 20$ from a random site and it did the job. It was great for the price and was pretty wide. It was a cheap alternative until I got a real wide angle lens. I believe the brand is Vivitar.
Everybody in this thread telling you not to do this is probably right but I did this exact thing at it turned out great. Almost all of this video was shot with the kit and a $10 adaptor off amazon, I didn't like to switch it of for longer shots so I just zoomed with it on, I really loved mine honestly,
