How do you guys carry extra lenses?

Hey everyone!

Im just curios to know how you guys carry your extra lenses. On a recent trip up to whistler I had my lens in my bad and launched off a cliff and landed back seat. I ended up cracking a part of my oakley splice lens.

I just purchased a 3rd lens for my goggle :) (Now have persimmon, pink iridium, and fire iridium)

How should I keep these safe in my backpack? Hard case? oakley soft case?

Can you guys recommend me anycases?

Thanks a ton!

i personally leave them in the car, and make a decision at the beginning of the day. if you want to take it with you, i think a hard case inside a backpack would be the best idea

hahaha cant leave em in the car on a pow day!! youll miss out on the early bird turns ;p hahaha especially if they get filled with snow from a bail and you cant wipe them... (happened to me, and my backup lenses were a savior) :)

i never take extra lenses with me. if they get covered with snow, shake them out and let them dry on the lift up

also how does extra lenses lead to missing out on early pow turns? i fail to see the logic here, if you dont know what the conditions will be, bring a lowlight lens that does well in brighter conditions too (something like persimmon)

If I have an extra lens, I carry it on the inside of my coat so it lines up to wrap around with the shape of my ribs. Or keep it in my backpack, or car.

Against the chest is nice though, because if you're skiing, and something happens to your goggles, an easy swap out is just so god damn convenient

Well if its dumping snow and you're chest deep on powder... try skiing with lenses filled with water drops, or no goggles at all.. Impossible. So if you were to go back to your car (especially on a big mountain such as whistler) it would take a bunch of time therefor missing out on first tracks :p

If you want a hard case, look at reliable racing. I have a hard case that fits a pair of goggles in perfect, so you could take a whole other pair of goggles or I guess a couple of lenses

Never break another lens! The LenzProtect case is the solution!

You wear this super-lightweight, protective case right above your boot....it protects your lens (or goggles) while on the mountain, so you always have the best lens for the conditions.

Riding with a pack : put it in the bag lens pocket

riding with jacket : put it in the inside lens pocket

riding without either: look at the forecast and commit to a lens leave the rest in the car.

I never basically ride more than a lap or two in pow without a pack so never have the problem of a lens getting drenched and needing to swap out and not have it.

Are your lenses in a case when inside your pack or jacket? Cheers!

Nah, just the goggle bag. I mean i guess that puts them at risk in a fall, so i guess if there were a lens case shaped like my large lenses it might protect them better.

Thanks for the reply. The LenzProtect case has a lightweight, semi-hard outer shell.....and might be just the amount of protection you're looking for. Cheers!
