How do you get the snow from the ice rink ++++++ karma

i doubt you need to call and ask.. just go out back where they drop it and load it up onto your truck.. theyre not going to care if you take it lol, they might look at you stupid but who cares.

Call and ask if you could take it, then get a trash can and fill up the trash can
but if you have a small car then maybe buckets with caps? idk it would be hard to not leak water

call and ask them, sometimes theyll even dump it in a different spot for you.

get a wheel barrel

Depends on the rink.

here is the best way to go about getting all the snow you need.

If you have a truck, walk into the rink, and offer the rink rats some booze, and ask if they would either a) dump the snow directly into your truck, or b) never melt snow and drop it all behind the rink. (a lot of places melt all their snow indoors now for whatever reason)

Scout a few places, sometimes snow just starts to build up in places in which case... its snow, just take it. Dont bother asking if you dont have to, questions just equal problems.

If you dont have a truck (I Dont, I have a wrx 5 door.) buy some large rubberwear containers, and just fill them with snow, and in turn fill your car with them. That is what I do, and it is perfect. Its a little easier to set up in places sometimes if you cant get the truck up or down.

back a truck up to their pile of snow shavings, fill the trunk till its full or till they ask you to leave.

the one near me is super easy, if you go right after a practice or session, they are usually gunna dump a fresh pile. and when we went last time the dude put it right on our trailor, and said theres no problem in taking it cuz it just sits outside and melts anyways.

drive up, non sketchy, find the pile of snow, open the back of your car, shovel in, if anyone comes out, politely ask them for the snow, they will say yes, maybe ask why, explain it to them, sometimes they will be like oh cool skiing and ask you questions, be friendly and answer the questions. now keep shoveling, drive home with the ac blasting!

and then ski your heart out!

look how happy they are!!!!!!!!

this one time last year, or maybe it was two years ago, i dont remember...anyway

so we were setting up a little jib at UVM ad kept having to carry the snow in a trash bucket from behind gutterson (the ice rink) over to a hill. Then the zamboni driver comes out and is like "hey do you kids want me to just dump the snow over there. so he drives over like 3 or 4 times and gives us a giant pile of snow. we called a bunch of kids and had a sick session, it was epic

go to the rink and ask the zamboni driver what his ice dump schedule and if he would dump the snow directly into your truck. If you work around his schedule shouldnt be a big deal.

we bought a trailer lined with a tarp and threw it in there or just bring ur jib to the ice rink and try to get some skiing in there if its in an inconspicuous spot

everyone pretty much covered it. although, if you have like a summer rail you could prolly move it to the ice rink and set up there, as long as you're not in the way of anything.

another good trick I found, was to lay a tarp in the bed of your or a friends pick up truck first, that way when you get to the jib site, you can just pull the tarp outta the truck and drag the snow to where ever it needs to go, helped me out a lot. Good luck and have fun urban jibbing!

i would defiantly call first, THIS IS IMPORTAnt, many ice rinks are starting to recycle snow in a giant water tank, you look pretty stupid when you ask where the snow is and they point you to a giant puddle, i know from experience, i have done this twice

if you have a smaller car, one way to do it is you line the inside of your trunk with tarps (make sure there are no leaks, etc) then dump the snow in, it will sit there in the tarp without getting your car wet (if done properly). then carefully remove this when you get to your desired jibbing area.

Sometimes they drop it in a pit indoors and melt it during the summer. If you ever need it for urban during the winter thats the best place to get it cause the pit doesnt melt as fast in the winter so they end up having to dump it outside. Thats for people who do not get much snow in town for urban.

if they dont store the ice outside they do what any of the above mentioned. But usually if they just dump it outside it's ok to take.

i just go take it from the rink but u should probably ask them. and find a friend with a pickup

1. get a truck
2. 3-5 friends with shovels
3. shovel it in
4. ski the night away

one time we got snow with my brothers truck, 8 foot bed, and there was so much snow we didnt even use half of it, the snow lasted forever

but if your worried ask them cause ice rinks want to get rid of it and they love it when people take the ice shavings, if they ask just be very polite

if your cops are gay as aids like ours its pointless...people call into the ricnk and say dont let the skiers use the snow but just say you are going to your back yard if your going to a park or somehwere sick with a rail like a park or something but ya just get a truck and some friends....

easy as shit

1. call and ask for the ok

2. get truck and shovels

3. get friends or hired illegals

4. load up truck with snow and drive away

5. be happy that you ice rink is open in summer and mine is not

6. SKI!

if you can get a pickup or van or something and fill it up, chances are you aren't going to use all of it. In that case you should pile the left over snow in a shady spot and keep it under a tarp... you can usually make it last about 3 days in the summer.

well i basically work at a ice rink so i just shovel the snow in a big pile and little kids make a sled run out of it so its preetty much set up before hand

but the rinks only opened in the winter and usually theres already snow

if you dont have a pickup just put something in the back of your car so theres no water everywher when it melts. put it in whatever you got and if its not really cold outside take more then you you think is needed causse it can go down pretty fast. habitually no one cares about you taking the snow so you should not have any problem with the guys working thetre.

ive never called and asked, but then again they dump it behind the rink n i just pulled around n grab it without anyone seeing. if you dont have a truck then grab a bunch of empty garbage cans (put plastic bags in if theres holes) and just fill them. a truck is much easier tho

Alright there's two rinks within a 30 minute drive of me and neither just dump their ice like everyone said they did 13 years ago. Do I just call up and ask If I could have their waste shavings to ski on? Trying not to sound like an idiot on the phone and burn my two chances lol
