How do you get 2 pairs of skis on a plane?

okay...I am flying to the US tomorrow and I want to take my park and my pow skis...unfortunately the airline just wants me to take one of them..

did anyone take two pairs over seas...did you guys have troubles doing that...how much extra did u guys have to pay if you did...

what airline? can't you check two ski bags? can you fit more than one pair of skis in your ski bag (that's how I've done it)?

get a sportube double ski box, it holds two pairs of skis and poles and its a hard case so they wont get damaged, they are a lil expensive but def worth it.

ive flown with 3 pairs, just shove them all in the same bag and they shouldnt say anything, except for the cost

you are no longer aloud to lock checked bags, nice try. well, it really depends, but don't lock the zippers. they will xray them and find out its two. my suggestion is just put them both in one, they will weight them and if its more than usual, they will Xray and prolly make you pay

say its a rocket launcher

I have probly flown 10 or 15 times with skis and always had at least 2 pairs in my bag. It shouldent be a a problem.

When I went to camp, they searched my ski bag at whistler on my way home. They made me carry it and unzip it and everything, I felt like they thought I had rocket launchers, fucking paranoid fucks.

its good they do stuff like that man. sure they do it randomly, but it makes flying safer. and people more comfortable with flying.

i flew to europe n took only one pair of skis, i just checked it in in a soft ski bag, and then allround my skis i put clothes for padding and for less baggage....dont no if u can carry on skis, n i forgot how much it cost to check

i took 2 pairs. and they asked me how many i had and i said i had one.. nothing happened. but as for my friends they had to be pay 25 euro

i stuffed them into one...but I am not sure if they let me pass without paying for 2...i hope they will

ski luggage is 28$ extra and i dont want to pay 56..

only problem might be weight cuz it weighs 14 kg a little heavy for "one" pair

i allways fly with 2 pair in one bag and they never question me, your allowded to check ski bags they cant say what you can and cant put in them (besides illigal shit). You are allowed 2 checked bags and you can get 3 for free when you have skis because you claim the 3rd bag is a bootbag so they let you check it without extra cost. Its prity easy to beat the airlines at there own game.

i always fly with two pairs in one bag and they have never done anything. But I do ducktape the zipper so maybe thats why they dont look.

get the armada continental ski bag. it holds two pairs of skis and poles, along with a whole shit load of other stuff.

ive put two pairs of skis in a bag before. Its no big deal. As long as you are within the weight limit and most airlines limit you to 50 pounds per bag so you should be good but u might not be able to get boots in with them. Carry your boots onto the plane with you.

Just so you know it was park skis and powder skis for me too

fit two pairs in one bag. My mom and I did that last year. Wrapped the skis in a towel put em both in a big ski bag and it wasnt a problem.

about the locked bag thing, i thought if it was one of those tsa aproved thing where they have a skeloton key for them you were allowed and if it wasnt they would break into, that all i have done the last few years and they have seached it but the lock was still on.

as for the skis get a hard cased box thing best thing i have bought they keep them safe for sure i watched my bag been seriosly thrown of the plane onto a trolly at lax and nothing happened not chips dent anything.

hope i could help!
