How do you expect to see the sport of skiing in 2050?

At my point of vue, resorts willl be equiped with snow cannon that can actually shoot artificial powder snow even if it is +10 D. celcius. Spring and summer skiing will be more popular.

no it's a friend of mine. there was no snow in austria in autumn, november was bluebird everyday...so they decided to do that rock skiing with older gear! and his cousin works at reuters, so these photos went around the world!

There will be massive indoor slopes buillt down the sides of skyscrapers

Everything will therefore be ski in ski out

And lifts will look like this:

I think there will definitely be a new sport that you can do on skis. It seems that all the sports that use skis are either judged or timed so I would imagine that the next big ski sport would be some sort of competition where you can somehow score points and either two people compete or its some sort of team event. I'm saying that it will be a sport with referees not judges if that makes sense. I don't think anyone could predict what excactly it would be though but eventually someone will invent it.

Also predicting that every high school and college that now has a race team will eventually have a park team.

I think park technologies will get crazier and crazier with more and more features utilizing more different materials and larger structures. I would love to somehow see 'backcountry steep skiing' brought to your local terrain park with massive man-made structures or something.

But yea that will happen before 2012 and by 2050 there's still gunna be park skiing but it'll be like racing or moguls now and this new sport with referees will be the cool thing.

Just going further I could see it being some kind of shooting thing since I feel like that meshes with skiing well since you have your arms free while you ski. I could see it be like paintball on skis or maybe lacrosse/hockey type sticks and I bet it will incorporate terrain park elements but they will be more like obstacles than like stuff to 'trick on'
 
also some sort of 'dry slope' will be everywhere. Great business idea right there. All resorts/cities are gunna have massive 'dry slopes'
 
i don't think the actual skiing will change much. maybe there will be really high tech gear or skis, but honestly, skiing is so much fun as it is now I don't think it needs anything else.
