How Do You Drive to 4th of July Bowl in Breck?

I really wanna go check it out, a crew of us tried to drive up there from the base of Peak 9 tonight and ended up way high, but ran out of road where there wasnt any snow. According to this, there's snow and stuff set up there:

Anyone have directions to drive up there? Where do I start??? I'm pretty sure we took most all Breck access roads from peak 9 to no success, but my xterra did impress me in 2wd.

if you drove up really high on peak 9 it sounds like you went the right way, when you are around the top of those lifts you drive under, i think there are a couple different choices of roads, i dont remember exactly where to go, but id guess look for the road that goes more straight up and maybe a little towards peak 10, you will do a bunch of switchbacks and then it will flatten out alot and you will be able to see for a very long distance. once it flattens out keep driving till you see it to your left.

^^ thanks, it sounds like we were on the right track, the road was pretty rocky and didnt look very well traveled... but I'll try the same road again. I'm assuming you took the road that went right by that peak 9 double lift? Thanks what we took and got discouraged by all the switchbacks. I'll try it again.

yeah it does get pretty rocky, but we saw a mini van up there once, you can kinda dodge the big rocks and stuff if you need to, and its definatly not a well kept of well traveled road. it sounds like you were on the right road, it takes a little while but its not bad

I actually found this place when we were staying in breck a couple weeks ago, I was on my mountain bike and said I was going to ride until the trail ends....2 1/2 hours later I am 700 vertical feet from the top of Peak 9/10 (above breck) and said fuck it, seeing as a storm was coming down on me. Ended up to be a 4,000+ Vertical foot climb.

Anyway you go the parking lot of the resort at the base of peak of th eplace thats like partly up the hill, highest up the hill. then its just rocky roads to the top of breck then ti goes to 4wd, Theres actually some legiit 40 degree or so skiing above the patch mentioned there.

Made it up there today, and it was pretty dope. We were totally on the right track before and turned around about 1/2 a mile before the snow...

There were a few rails set up, but they sorta sucked. Me and a few buddies are going to try to bring a few more decent rails up there this week. I plan to be there as much as possible once we get a few decent rails up there! Ill try to post pics in a few minutes...

The snow patch is about twice as big as it usually is according to the guys there today. Which means the patch will probably last until A-Basins lifts run again! I guess theres still quite a few rails, but theyre buried from last year, hopefully theyll appear soon as well. I think my buddies and I are bringing a few flat rails up. If you go, please dont trash the stuff up there, the better we set it up, the more fun itll be.

p.s. I think ill be there tuesday afternoon, hopefully with some flat bars. Those liftline gates were taken with the guys who brought them up today. They suck anyways, like 3 1/2ft tall and 5ft long.

theres a road off the base of peak 9, just keep following it up. Eventually youll be at the top of peak 9, going under the E Chair... keep going. Its a long bumpy drive, but I did it in 2wd in my xterra. The switchbacks at teh top take awhile, about a 25 min drive up breck.

it starts next to the parking lot at beaver run, take a left into the parking lot right before you go under the pedestrian bridge over the road.

Theres two shitty flat rails rails about 6-7 feet long, and I brought up a 20 foot flat rail last time. I made it out of shit i found in the keystone junkyard (shhh) but its pretty legit as long as no one moves it/tries to set it up in a crazy way.

hey so I just moved to breck and Im dying to hit a rail...

is anyone headed up soonish? I only have a camry, so if I could get a ride with a better car thatd be ideal, just pm me or something please.

Dude, I heard this too. My friends drove all the way to 4th of July bowl and they ended up getting shot at, having their tires slashed, and then had to walk all the way down with their skis and stuff!

It's a total NO GO from what I heard.
