How Do You Cope?

And you learn to cope at the end of your rope, whatever it is, with liquor or dope

Smoke weed, shoot hoops, whatever you find your happines through

It's your life, just make sure you know what you want when you go to get it

Keep doin this shit for you, not your crew, or the dude you tryna impress kid

Life is simple, life is hard, and yea, life is fun

So enjoy the things around you, before your life is done.

sorry but the title reminded me of that song. and i cope by working 52 hours a week so that i have money to ski when winter comes around.

trampoline and hanging with friends. but to tell the truth i don't cope i just occasionally distract myself from thinking about skiing every second of the day.

^ Same. I don't really cope. I'm losing my freakin mind here. I HATE SUMMER! I work though so I can buy ski gear. And I jump on my friends trampoline for hours when ever I go to his house. The other day I learned cork and rodeo.

Thank you sir, that is one of my fav. songs of all time.

I cope with booze, women, wakeboarding, longboarding, mountain biking, work, tramp, pot, ice cream, pot, summer seshes, and some more pot.

Its funny though, even with all of that, It comes nowhere close to how much I love my one winter activity.

work, sleep extensive periods of time, bike, rollerblade (closest feeling to skiing i guess), swim, and mary jane.

whenever i get board i just fantasize im hitting jumps and doing rediculous grabs. and hitting rails and prezeling everything.

i wouldn't be surprised if this got be better at skiing a little bit too.

It does. I swear I fantasized so much last summer that because of muscle memory even though I had never really skied switch before I was able to do switch 3's after a week. I can't wait to land some flatspins this year.

I pick up a laser pointer, and watch my cat chase it around for hours at a time, theres a lot of breaks though, because she gets tired or dizzy and falls over for a rest. simple things for simple minds

I never noticed this till now.... but i don't use newschoolers.com in the winter. I think maybe this is what gets me by!

it seems that alcohol has a much larger presence in my life during summer. from time to time i like to jump of of cliffs to keep up my air awareness. also go to starz gymnastics for their tramp n foam pit. skateboarding is something that i love to do no matter if its summer or winter. most of all though, i like to ski in the summer.

i thoroughly enjoy summer.

i guess i "cope" by just getting outside and doing shit, when its hot or cool, doesnt matter.

Rock climbing is fantastic, especially with so much of it in the state

hiking

skiing (not this summer though so far, but whatever)

driving places

age of empires II TC

food

and traveling seems to get me each summer the past few years, which is excellent.

work, but its in a ski shop so its depressing

girlfriend, but she complains about wanting to ski so thats no good

bike, but i take just as hard falls there, so no recovery for my body

drink, duh.

meh, get off newschoolers it totally makes it worse, i say that while on newschoolers so i guess im not that credible but id get really into another sport or build a fort or go exploring or go to the nearest highdive i love highdives and then after the highdive you go to your local cliff hopping spot and take what you learned on the high dive to the cliff and youre like hey i just realized that its summer lets go to the beach and then you go to the beach and have some fun and go explore some more because its summer and you just got laid off your job so you go on multiple day drinking binge adventures. wow i just realized i was still typing and now im gonna post this

great song

+karma

on topic i dont really cope either, here and there i get distracted from skiing, but all im always waiting for winter

enjoy summer? i dont understand all this constant complaining about summer. to tell you the truth i like summer just as much as winter. no school, friends, boating, wakeboarding, late nights... everything about summer is sick. the more you linger over not skiing, the tougher it will be. watching ski movies constantly, always sesioning, and trampolines make the wait so much more grueling. i try to do all those sparingly, and just try to enjoy the season at hand

Oh shit I thought you made up that verse until I saw "-Classified", I was gonna say "the rap battle thread will now be resurrected!"

But to cope with the summer I...

- Go down to Mt. Hood which is 4 hours away to remind you.

- Jump on my tramp.

- Hit up my backyard setup. (6ft drop-in, 10ft box, 9ft straight rail, 9ft c-rail and a 10ft down rail)

- Watch vids and look at pics here on NS.

- Go to the pool and practice tricks off the diving board.

- Go to this gymnastics place that has an olympic trampoline with a huge foam pit next to it and learn new tricks.

- Go and get my rollerblade on.

- Go mountain biking. (not much anymore because this church that owned the land that everybody was building on destroyed all of the jumps)

my response is almost identical to this, except I work approximately 6 hours less a week and spend that six hours skimboarding and watching ski movies.
