How do you choose a song?

Just wondering how people choose a song for their edit? I usually look at the tricks and riding style and try to pick a song to match them.

I have a friend though who doesn't really have a certain style so I can't figure out a song for his season edit any advice.
 
I always have a few in mind that I want to use and whatever type of day or whatever vibe I want the edit to have forces me to come to a final decision.
 
I feel the same way when I try to edit for a video of just myself. I have no idea what my riding style is so I just pick something that is really general that has a good mood to it.

Sometimes like said above a have a song in mind and I just got the shots to match it.
