easier switch

ride switch, learn back onto your tails till your tips lift up off the ground, then twist your upper body and follow with your skis

its easier to do it like this:

start switch, start turning around, when your almost 90 degrees, pull your body back lifting your tips

if you get your edges to grab while you do it and create some resistance, you can get quite a bit of energy reading for a pop. its all about loading the tails(or nose) and releasing the pressure. Do it with some speed and alot of power from your legs, don't take any shit from the snow, make you skis go where you want them to.

OK, so that's buttering 101, but for an advanced lesson, doing butter 270 on seems super awkward to me. I was told to carve to skiers left while going switch, and then pull the butter off, but when you get around, do you remain on your tips before getting on the box/rail? I find that I always butter 180/olli90 onto things when i really want a butter 270 on.

if u skate, or if u bike, it is the same principle of a ollie or a j-hop

what if they built an urban ski that was super stiff and strong so you could pop huge ollies? this might be pretty sick for new urban stuff like popping up onto rails or doing stair sets.

~I keep shit rilla, cuz i'm all about my scrilla

go switch, go to side slip sorta like ur gonna go back to forward, but when you do this just lean back. some sort of force will lift ur tips up. nose butterring lean really far forward and twist your torso.

I'm White?

^^stiff skis are a lot harder to ollie or butter

You did not post anything useful to this thread either. Basically, just think of centering the weight of your body over the tails, and to do that imagine breaking your tails and you will start to press. Softer skis are easier to butter, but don't pop as much out of them as a ski with a stiffer tail.

ummm... if you're worried about breaking ur skis, ur skis must suck. See, im just a little kid (4' 10'', 85lb) and i ride the soloman 1080 juniors so it's like impossible for me to butter, i dont have enough weight or enough on the back of my ski's to flex. But my friend can butter pretty sick, all u gotta do it lean back, not hard at all, dont even think about it.

first off. you should all buy Promo Copy and watch Simon Chamberlain butter on to handrails. Okay now on how to do it. First it should only ever be done at the absolute lip of the jump. Otherwise it is just a gay margarine and should be done better cuase youre gay. You can do this switch or regular. Switch you should get a slight carve and lean down the mountain (ex. as if you were landing backseat but youre going switch so its down the mountain). then turn and keep leaning to your tails while spinning. This way you will not just butter for 90 degrees but actually the whole 180. once the 180 is completed you should stay on your tails and pop on the rail. Butters are extremely overrated in their easiness because to actually butter is not an easy thing. it takes practice. also along with the freeskier cover you can also watch wski. tanner does it on the same rail as on the freeskier cover but it is kinda a cab 270/butter. that is just a sort of example. but buttering is not as easy as you may think. peace
