How do you accept that you’re a bad skier?

How do I stop feeling down about being dog shit in the park, I’ll go to the hill and my day will be ruined when I can’t hit any features clean, advice?

Stop caring what other people think, just have fun while you’re out there. When you start having fun, your progression skyrockets.

Just fucking ski man I'm 36. I just hit rails easylike and do small tricks in jumps. I don't cut people off and follow park etiquette.

I've never cared if someone can do more tricks than me. I only care about having fun and ski everything.

my body has declined quickly since high school and i’ve just kind of accepted that i’ll never be doing any good tricks anymore, i guess just have fun with what you got

As long as you aren’t cutting anyone off, and aren’t an asshole, no one gives a fuck what you’re doing, so you shouldn’t either.

Focus on doing one thing super fucking clean. On any rail try that same shit everywhere. Master that then move on to a small step up. Hike a spot all day to land it clean out in the time, you got this! What you trying to learn right now?

just focus on having fun. i try to challenge myself in different ways than trying the biggest jumps. that is no fun to me. so i don't hit it. also just having friends that hype you up no matter what, they can hit a double cork 12 and you hit a 360 and they will still back you up.

i have rarely met people better than me that are total asshats about being better then you. only cocky kids

A lot of people telling you to focus on having fun. I agree, but the reality is also that to be an insane skier, you would also have to sacrifice a lot. I would love to be the best jibber on the mountain, but I know that I also value other things (Family, friends, Uni, Career, Skating etc.).

I guess my point is that, although it might seem attractive to be an insane skier, it requires (for most people) that you give up on a lot of other things you might value. I overcome those thoughts by thinking of all the other things I am good at, and love spending time on.

It takes a lot longer than people like to admit to get “clean” at park. Clean is basically confidence in your skills appearing effortless when executed. Can’t get confidence without doing it 1000 times.

Get back out there and get those reps in OP. It’s ur only way

I just have so much fun regardless what I'm doing on skis or what I'm skiing like. Be in the frame of mind that you're not skiing for anyone else and you're thankful for the time on the mountain.

If you're old enough, drink a couple beers and contemplate life and what could have been. If you're not old enough drink a couple root beers and contemplate life and what could have been.

Can vouch. Most progression I ever had was in a single day. 3 7% ipas and a few tips from pros later and I was going inverted

Falling over on the jump take off and riding away doesn't count as a cork. Or does it?!?!?!? Damn, You might have just helped me unlock trips. Xgames here we come!

I was in this boat till I just started doing fun little things that please me, then I got a lot more enjoyment.

who gives a fuck if you can’t do tricks others can or if you aren’t progressing as fast as others. Just have a good time

I asked a similar question to this last season. Nobody gives a fuck, you arguably get more props for a send where you eat shit in comparison to stomping a trick. Try skiing with friends if you need some more reassurance maybe.
