how do pro skiers not get hurt more

im watching focused right now and the part where mike wilson overshoots the landing on some jump is ridiculous. i did that a couple years ago on a jump 1/2 that size and couldnt walk the next day cus i bruised my heels so badly. he looks like he should have broken both of his legs, but just gets up and skis away

 
he probably did get hurt. pros get hurt all the time.

well generally they know how to do tricks and dont fall much beacuse they are able to do the tricks they try, most littler kids get hurt when there trying a trick or throwing a trick they arent able to throw consistantly.....

As funny as it sounds, you learn how to crash well, absorbing impact and stuff. Also, I'm sure they stretch, and work out in order to be tough and flexible thereby preventing injury.

Air sense also helps. There is a difference between landing back seat, and landing on your head. As long as your feet get back under you, usually you won't be too bad.

actually being strong just means your bones don't break, but then your joints will give out, so you need flexibility as well, i know this after 6 months at physical theapy. Tearing every ligament in you shoulder as well as dislocating it from eating shit land switch will do that. also you need to relax before you impact, if you tense up and fight the fall you are more prone to injury, just remember, ragdoll.

 
yah you have to learn to crash before u can learn to land, thats my moto, it makes sence to. I used to get hurt on 360s on 7 foot tables. Now ive fallen on pretty much ever trick there is to fall on, on 40+ foot tables and i harldy get seriously hurt

 
i think it's just experience, i don't really get hurt on my bike anymore even when i have nasty crashes cause you learn how to fall

^about the joint thing, if you do some power lifting, like one of Istvan Javorek's olypmic programs, (Power Thrash, Big Fun) then your joints will strengthen. Won't make you invincible but it makes you very strong.
