How do other Movies comepare to Propaganda

I got Propaganda the other day and i was blown away by it. But how do other movies compare to it? Whats the next movie i should get if i liked that? I'll probably get ski movie 3 when it comes out.

propaganda had a ton of park compared to like high society (ski movie 2) that was a TON of big mountain

i also got royalty, which royaly sucked compared to propaganda...ha, naw it wasn't that bad, but high society was hella long, so i started to compare everything to the length of that movie, and i shouldn't have

high society is really good, but long. the section on the boat takes forever, i now just fast foward through it. but the big mountain is sick, and the new school that is in it is pretty good, just not as good in propaganda.

even though the actualy video quality isnt great, scanadlous was really funny and had good skiing

I am sick and fucking tired of people bad mouthing MSP videos for having too much big mountain in them. THEY ARE FUCKING BIG MOUNTAIN VIDEOS, what do you expect them to have? If you don't like watching big mountain skiing, than don't get or expect to like any movie by MSP. Their jumping segments suck, they show the same 5 jumps over and over and over from different angles for each rider with not very good editing and songs that the riders don't like... The big mountain in the videos is amazing, but I mean - in High Society Tanner's, Philou's, Evan Raps', and some others got really, really repetative. If you want a video with good jumping get a jumping based video, if you don't like big mountain and this it's boring, than don't get MSP and complain about it. jesus christ!

And why didn't you like Royalty dude? It was the best video all year (and I've seen all but TGR, they could be good... maybe).

Next year there are yet another whole bunch of kick ass videos coming out. In the Haze (DKR Productions), Quality Control (Skibum Productions), and the next video by Agressive Instinct should be good and probably won't cost huge bucks, so get those even if you don't think you can afford a lot of videos. Than you got a pick between Blunt (Jibtech), Strick Three (Level 1), Stereotype (PBP - Iberg), and Happy Days (PBP - DeCesare), and whatever Wind-up Films puts our (anyone hear anything about their video for next year?) for mainly jumping videos and MSP's video for big mountain... I guess TGR if you want, but I was never a fan of anything TGR made.

I spent entirely too much time on this post for absolutly no reason.

i LOVE 'there's something about mcconky' it's gotta be one of the best ski movies ever...great mix of insane big mountain, awesome park, rider documentary, and shane doing what he does best....making fun of stuff and screwing around

 
Royalty definantly ruled, best ski vid ever made. Stereotype is also going to rule. Also, like Darryl said, chances are if you didn't like ski movie one or two, than you wont like three. Personally I like MSP alot. PBP of course rules so just get it. Support all the film companies, there only like $30, its not like your gonna starve if ya buy a few extra. Anyway. Later.

 
i think royalty was good, only the music was kind of different, but if you can live with that it was pretty good.

Second Generation & Subject to Change are both park videos and you will like them if you like propaganda. I havn't seen second gen yet so I am unable to say wether or not it is good but I have faith in Level 1. Mind the Addiction & Ski Movie 2 are both mainly big mountain films and in my opinion not as good as films like propaganda.

 
hm. my opinion on royalty is that it isn't quite long enough and ...i don't know. i just didn't get the same vibe from it as i did from propaganda. but, i have only watched it once, i got it for 10 bucks up in new england. maybe after i watch it some more it will grow on me. saying it royaly sucked was exaggerating, lol, sorry.

i didn't know msp was big mountain. but then again, i dont know much...if i think abotu it, maybe i did know that. anyways, i never said i didnt like HIgh Society, well, maybe i did, but i DID like it. the big mountain was cool i thought, something different.

I liked Locs a lot. Lot of sweet backcountry in JH. Propaganda was great for park. I've always really loved Ski Move I though.

Royalty is soooo smooth. I watch it all the time. The shortness of it is good I thnk, cause you watch it all the way through and are so pumped to go skiing. If you have Eric Pollard and Phil Belenger in the video with huge as segments then its gotta be good. Also both Mickeal and Cadide are awesome. The parks they ski at are amazing. Its the only movie this year with some moguls in it, but its cool. Like rail to moguls and stuff like that. He learned how to lside rails just for the video. Also Phil Dion needs more respect he is really good. This was the best video last year along with Propaganda, Flying Circus, Second Generation, Scandolous and also OPTIGRAB. It is one of the best movies ever, so get it.

 
I didn't like Flying Circus very much. It was good - but I thought that Tee-Time was WAY better... Clay Pigeons was a bit better too. Flying Circus was the same thing as Tee-Time, they didn't change at all... yea, it's sick seeing huge ass backcountry gaps - but I saw it in Tee Time, why bother watch it again? And the soundtrack was kinda lacking in Flying Circus compaired to Tee Time and Clay Pigeons. I really enjoyed the Tee Time soundtrack.

I dont like ski movie one or two cause there is tooo much big mountain...and onve you've seen one mountian you've seen them all...it just gets boring...i like the jib flicks cause they are better.

Ya man, OPTIGRAB ruled, that is a sweet vid. Transcendence and Third Degree Burns were also good. I was disapointed by Stand and Deliver though. Later.

 
the thing that i dont like about propaganda is that even though its wicked sick footage. it just gets borign seeing park, and the music is'nt that good, which also makes me lose intrest in it. it is an awesome movie though. in my opinion high society is better.

 
Subject to change had a great mix of park and big cliffs, and the crashes/humor was great. But overall, Mind the Addiction was the best movie last year. The Boise premier of it was one huge rockin party for one hell of a movie.

For some reason propaganda didnt do it for me. It seemed like the music wasnt that good and it kind of threw off the whole movie or something. I dont know what it was that didnt make it my fav. The GAME is really good though.

okay its time to set the record straight on TGR.

Sorry but their videos suck. Bad filming, bad editing, and bad music. three major strikes against them.

They don't have much in the way of unique footage for their 'JIB' flicks, they mainly just cruise to shit like superpark, and parkasaurus, they film everything there, but they use shots of shitty tricks. Turpin did a rodeo 5 over the 120 footer last year, they shot it, but they didn't put it in their movie! They used a sloppy 7 instead. Turpin was pissed. Infact, not to many of the athletes outside of the big mountain guys really want to shoot with them. They only shoot with them because they get photo incentive kick backs from their sponsors.

 
I disagree with poopfinger (this is based only on Mind the Addiction). TGR did a good job of filming; they have some of my favorite shots. The editing seems fine to me, but editing always looks the same to me. And they get some of the better music. Mind the Addiction is my favorite soundtrack to a ski movie right now.

Am I the only one here who isn't bored by seeing big mountain skiing?

 
Their big mountain flicks are definatly more solid than their 'JIB' flicks. All their jib movies have sucked from the begining, area 51 through subject to change. Their gay little plots, wounded.

 
If anyone is a Phil fan, watch 'Spun'. Its a really good movie but sort of short.

yea - spun was amazing. I gotta borrow that from ya, or at least just watch it Derek...

and yea - i got area 51 when it came out thinking it would be cool - but it sucked. never even looked in the same direction as tgr videos after that. I did watch Further or whatever it was called in the theaters two years ago... it was alright, but not amazing - the narration was annoying, and they don't know how to edit shit when it comes to jumps. all their jumping semgments in that video made me feel like i was watching a trailer for the movie. you know what i mean?

tgr is the greatest video company ever....skiing, kayaking, surfing, biking...what more can you want??? their skiing vids may not be quite as good as say msp or poorboyz, but they're still damn good, and their kayking vids are unparralleled...i love tgr, not to mention the trick of the week!!!

 
propogandas songs were good. jon olsson section pennywise song and rookies section swollen members song was sick.

rastafaride, candide's film, was the best film for last season, only 20 min long but sooooo smooooooothhhh man, so smooth.... candide is the stylest

 
Royalty was definetly one of the sickest movies of the year. It had long segments with great skiers like the three phils, candide, dyvbig, eric pollard. The soundtrack was great to. It has some good underground hiphop on it if you like that music.

 
Balance is good - but gets kinda long... and there's the odd segment that gets really boring (eg - Schrabs & Horlijisghishson or whatever his fuckin' last name is). good cast of east coast dudes before they get big in the spotlight (Novotny, Turpin, Rex, Hibbert, Garrett, Boyd, Woods, Rory, Kozody, Belliveau, , and Jeremy April). Most the footage was taken off the glacier in the summer - good crash section.

2nd Gen. was a lot shorter than Balance and was really good. the usual east coasters (check out Ben Grunow - mad style), good rails, and Hibbert getting nutted over and over and over... I'd say better than Balance, but Balance was really good for Bermans first major video...

i hate the movies where theres park then alot of big mountain and then park agian

berman puts together the best movies in my mind. MSP has a good mix of skiing, with big mountain and such. PBP has all the bg names in park, but not much else.

propaganda and high societyt have to be the two greatest movies ever made

High society has the perfect combination of park big mt. and backcountry and the humor adds to the excitement

alot of kick ass highlights also with cr johnsons bio 9 over the 110 footer seth morrisons lincoln loops off of huge ass cliffs mark shermans rail crashes everything about it is good

what makes propaganda good is its footage the urban style so many sic stuff right after another not alot of big mountain tho which is great to see but still awesome newschool like steele spences rail and all of jp auclairs seen but it is a litlle short compared to high society but some ppl like it short

 
High Society 2 was great although there was way too much big mountaing and less rails!

Propaganda was completely opposite to that, lots of rails, lots of jumps, the best ski movie out there is propaganda.
