How do I find a bootfitter?

So whenever there is a boot question everyone says go to a bootfitter, which is sound advice...BUT how do I find said bootfitter? I live in NJ. I've been to every local shops that I know of and not one of them has a legit bootfitter. I go in, say I'm looking to buy boots and they proceed to measure my foot size, bring out some boots, and ask me how they feel. ie. not a proper boot fitting.

So how do I find a proper bootfitter? I even tried googling for bootfitters near me, and the said local shops turn up...

Ski Barn in Paramus has a decent boot fitter...there's also an in house pediatrist or whatever it's called. I got my boots there, very helpful.
