I ain't buying a new board b/c this is a new one I bought last year.

Sorry my camra stinks

Thanks

its is pretty hard to tell from those pictures. Might have to cut out that section of base and fill it in with epoxy.

This, or superglue, or take it to a shop. My skis have this and I rode them all year with it duct taped so that works too

Does anyone know how to fix the metal edge, Its bent in under the plastic thats poped up but when I try pliers it starts popping out all down the board?

cut it before it starts to bend in and then put in a new piece. Edge repairs are really hard and dont tend to last very long.

if it was my ski, i'd cut away the ptex on the inside of the edge, so it's completely free, then hammer it back into the right position with a hammer , then fill up the piece i fut out with epoxy(till just belox the edge, then fill up further with ptex ....

Thats a pretty easy fix for a shop. I would charge 2 bucks for that if I had to replace the edge (not recomended) and patch the base. The best way would be to rebend the edge reallign the base and glue and clamp it all. If heat is used it could be good to go in under 2 hours. Leave it longer though and it will be stronger then new. Like I said take it to a shop and see what they quote you. Dont pay over $30 as its a quick and easy fix.

I took it to a shop and they said $75 which is why I was lookin to do it myself, Ill shop around though.

Thanks

yeah $75 is way to much for that. It would be about 15mins work, then a few hours for teh epoxy to go off, but the tech can get on with other stuff in that time. As I said above I would charge 20 bucks (not 2 typo) as its an easy fix. Try find a few other shops and see what they say. If its all expensive then ask them exactly what they would be doing to make it so expensive. If they say they would have to replace the edge and patch the base, say you dont want that, you just want the edge rebending and the base gluing down. If they try to charge you more then $30 for that they really are trying it on.

Took it to the shop they said $80 and they don't nkow if it would work cause they brought to my attention that there is also a gouge in the sidewall where the crack in the edge is. That would make the fix not waterproof and skrew up my board. how to waterproof sidewall.(you can't see it in those pics I will try to get better ones.

Its a little tough to tell if the sidewall is just cracked and the core is ok, then putting a good epoxy there heating a clamping it would work fine. If there is part of the sidewall missing then again epoxy would work to fill the hole. It would not be quite as strong but would be waterproof and would hold if done right. If your core is broken as well thats when things would start to get tricky. I have replaced the sidewalls on my skis when they have blown out plently of times. I find if rebuilt underfoot it will usally last about 50 days of rails. So if yours is in the tip then it wont be getting hit all the time when doing rails and should last alot longer.

What would you guys say takes the excess epoxy off best. i.e. least scratches, smoothest.

Does anyone know what "i.e." stands for?

my buddy who i go up to the mtn with was riding on his board 64 times last season with a similar break... and same things happened....litteraly duck tape got him through the winter it was a frankenboard for sure.... but hey if it gets you through the season then well go with my motto...."fuck it bud"
