How do i convince my dad to let me get freestyle skis...

alright so hes probably gonna get me used salomon 2003-2004 pocket rockets for when we go on trips and stuff.. he thinks i can use it in the park also, but i want to go on rails and shit and i wouldn't wanna ruin them and there not even a true park ski...soo ive been buggin my dad to just let me buy a pair of freestyle skis that are affordable and hes being gay about it.. what should i do to convince him?
 
buy a pair on your own, its your money so how could he stop you.

or settle for one ski instead of two, look into pe's, scratch bcs....

or just use them in the park, i dont think its that big of a deal.
 
stop moaning, at least he'll buy you a pair of skis, if a park ski is that important to you buy a pair on your own.
 
yea, no shit! dont be so ungrateful. your dads buying you pocket rockets. i wish my rents bought me skis. if you want some park specific sticks, go get a shitty lil job, and in a few weeks you can have some. seriously. if your too young ffor a real job, babysit for rich folk. mad money, and all you do is play with kids/eat lil kid food. its dope. but dont come on here whinin about it. and you can ride park on PRs no problem
 
just get PRs this year then next year get some park skis and over time you'll develope a quiver of skis, will he not let you buy them with your own money or will he not buy them for you?
 
Good to have when you are skiing on a powder day, but the chute you are in slid. There might be lots of nice pow down below, but the top is icy. Good to have nice edges at a time like that.

the thing is.. I WILL buy the freestyle skis but my dad won't let me he says ill do fine on pr's but i want a park ski that i can go on rails and shit and the i could use the pocket rockets for powder and when i go out west

i have about 500 dollars and im 13 (mowed alotta lawns over the summer) so i would obviously be getting a used park ski thats a couple years old.. but my dad like won't let me spend my money...even when someone makes me a deal for 04 troublemakers for 140 bucks, wow i was pissed haha
 
how much do you actually ski? The PR's have the same dimensions as MOST moder park skis. They are fine, no one will laugh at you
 
i don't care about ppl laughing but i just thought they were mostly big mountain/powder skis and if im gonna have those i really can't do alotta rails if i still wanna ski normally with them..idk
 
how but u run away fer a week see if u can survive and if u can u should be able to make ur own desisions on how to spend ur money

skis, hell I ski garage-built spatuala knock-offs and beat up pontoons...no carving on those beasts

Save your cash and use it for summer camp
 
ya poket rockets aren't exactly what people would call a fat ski these days they're probably fine in the park. I used a pair of scratch BCs in the park all last year which are beigger and stiffer and it was fine.
 
get something cheap like fujatives or something. say ' dad, there just like a normal all mountain ski but they have their tail turned up, and there pretty cheap'
 
my dad isn't cheap, hes just strict and doesn't want me to spend my money that i worked for and thinks its pointless for me to buy a pair of skis...i dont get it haha
 
yeah well my dad got to go to killington with his friend and didn't bring me so i think im gonna go along the line of "youre a fuckin idiot you didn't bring me, i want to ski so im gonnna buy some" im sure that will work
 
you have 500 bones, if your dad doesn't hide your money from you, why don't you just go get the tm's for 140 or buy something else? YOU don't need HIS permission to spend YOUR money... you sound like you're married to the dude.. by the way this is the worst thread ever. i hope spoozer is joking.
 
Why not just get the PRs? Never turn down free equipment, I almost bought some PRs this year. Go back and watch Focused and other films from a few years back and all the Salomon riders are on them.
 
use your PR's on rails, if you dont want to do that, then get a job and buy some new sticks.
