How do deaf people think?

why is he an idiot? my school has a mainstreem program for deaf people, and i know that they dream in sign language... but if thats true, then they cannot think in words, if they dont know them,

its humurous how ignorant people like you can be. first of all consider what words are- representations of an object. i say table and that correlates with a table. yet deaf people do not have this connection. they SIGN table, which correlates to table. they may spell and know words, but as far as sounds, they do not know this. so i pose this question to you, how can they think in sound? which is what the original question is. they cannot think in words or letters, for htis is impossible. therefore they must think in sign.

i go to school with them asshole.. my school has a mainstreem program. i have asked. think about it. you think words your actually hearing them in yoru head. deaf people dont know what they sound like.. so they cant do that.

Not really. It just an undeveloped thought. I think what he was getting at is the question posed by Orwell in his novel 1984. Orwell asked (indirectly of course) whether people could have thoughts, feelings, and emotions if they had no words with which to express them...an intresting question indeed.

how retarded can you be? yes some, not all, deaf people can speak. they can do that because they have spent days with a speach trainer to tell them when the word is said correctly. form there their vocal cords are trained (muscle memory) to do a certain thing when they try to say they word, thus making it sound similar to if you or i said it. they still cant hear the fucking word though dumbass. theyre deaf! they can speak it merely because of muscle memory, but they dont know how it sounds when it comes out their mouth. and they cannot think in speech patterns as we do because they dont know how the words sound, they think in emotions as Tormentor said. And he was one, so trust him over you anyday smartass. so fucking ignorant
