How did you get started?

I've been looking through this M&A forum a lot lately and I have to say, wow. Some of the talent and passion that NS'ers have in photography/videography is amazing. I've always wanted to get into it but I never really know where to start or if I have the time. Where/when did you guys start off and how did you learn everything? What editing programs do you use? Have you taken any courses or the years? I think I would only have the time to take up photography as a hobby, but I usually get pretty into everything I do so I would probably catch on quick. I have done a decent amount of research in the past about cameras/lenses and was really close to purchasing some... just never really got around to it. Would just like to get a rough idea of how much time your guys put into your work, because it's usually quite impressive.

Sparknotes: How long have you been doing photography and how did you get started/learn the ways? I'm looking to get into it...

This. I just started filming my friends with a go pro and it just kinda took off from there

Just go out an have fun, first time I ever edited something was in highschool and it was terrible but me and my friends didnt care. Got a camera freshman year of college and filmed with my friends and made some casual edits and they got better and better. They key is just to have fun, dont worry about it being the best edit ever.

Got a flip camera one year to mostly film myself, but my friends saw my edit and wanted me to film them. From there, went to a Canon M30 with movie maker and then Sony Vegas, to finally discovering photography too. Four years later, I now use a 7D with Premiere Pro CS6.
