How did the parents react to finding your alcohol?

mine did the basic shit, no skiing for long time, no driving, basically stay home and sleep all day and go on NS. The worst part is that they found it by searching my room on a "hunch". But they didn't find my Jose Cuervo!
 
my parents have a tendency to search my room at random. they just do it while im not here and say they cleaned it. my dad is ok with me drinking, but he is convinced that i should only be "socailly drunk" which to him is about 2 shots.

he says its ok to party and split a 24 between 10 freinds. or a mickey between 4.

I was at my buddy's house and we went up to his room and in his closet, where his beer was, there was a note that said -

"Rough night, needed your beer. Don't drink, it's bad for you -Dad"
 
i always thought my parents would rip me to shit when they found out that i drink. on new years eve they asked me if i was taking the cara and i said no. so they figured it out and were just like "make good decisons. dont drive with people who have drank" so it was chill.
 
ha. That sucks dude. I always thought that I had really hard parents, so it was weird that they didn't really care when I came home drunk for one of the first times my senior year of high school (one of the first times I came home and didn't just stay over). I think it's one of 2 things: They trust my judgment, or they really just don't want to address it. Now I'm in college and every now and then my mom or dad will call me on fridays and tell me be safe...lol. I think it also helped that when we went to Italy they realized I'm not a retarded drunk, just a happy/loving one.

A bunch of my friends have the same experience. I think it helps to be a good kid to start out with. I was like 20th in my class and a top level distance runner so they know I would never screw that up.
 
Mine found out in the worst possible way.

i ended up staying over at my boyfriends house for the night because my best friend was drunk and her sister found out and kicked me out from sleeping over there.

when my mom called me at 8am asking me where i was, i knew that my best friends sisster called and told her what happened.

gosh was my mom pissed. she was pissed that i was at my boyfriends house for the night and the drinking.

she didnt ground me....or anything.she knows i drink but not all the time. im just really surprised because i have reallllly strict/old fashioned parents

I've never gotten caught. Parents search my room,so i hide it in my basement. I've come home wasted a lot and always got away with it. If they caught me I'd prolly be screwed though

 
Oh yeh plus its hard to get caught when ur 23 haha.

When I was underage though they were down with it too, as long as I didn't get into a car.

I don't think there is anything wrong with drinking when your younger as long as your not a fucking moron and get behind the wheel of a car.

my parents would never keep me from skiing as a punishment...only if i had like a shitload of homework to do or something. they wouldnt be like "oh no i found your alcohol no skiing for 3 weeks" fuck that shit my dad snowboards he would take me lol. and my mom would buy me the damn juice in the first place
 
I had a buddy when we were underage who would always tell his parents that the booze they found in his closet was really mine and he was storing it for me. After one really vicious summer his mom actually phoned mine and told her she should have a talk with me because I must really have a bad drinking problem... True Story... It wasn't an issue for me really 'cause my Mom already knew I had a drinking problem.
 
.. I don't leave alcohol in my room. When I buy it, I drink it. It's kinda weird that you guys keep stashes of it but whatever floats your boat.

My parents don't really approve of me drinking but the law here says I can. Before I was legal though they'd still let me on occasion.. and many occasions they didn't know about.

They don't freak out about that kinda stuff.
 
haha my mom found our beer when we were about to leave for dave matthews concert this summer....she still let us go

and we kept more than half the beer

Here in Norway it is 18, but my mom bought me alcohol when I was like fiftheen og sixteen... it is normal that the kids over here starts drinking at the age of 14-15
 
The Beat my ass with a muffeler 4 3 days strait and then sent me to militairy school were i then excaped and head 4 the border. I then met up with my life long friend sanchez where we started our own homemade tortilla stand... now i am here
 
dude you call that the basic shit? that is wayyyyyy harsh man. Mine just said i shouldnt be drinking but didnt even take it... thats so gay no skiing? skiing is a fucking sport so they are just making you be a bum and stay inside? what a lame punishment your parents must be really, really gay.

im 18 so they really cant do much more then kick me outta the house.
 
Punishments arent supposed to be fair. There talking away something he loves so he will be mad. Thats the whole point
 
i've never been caught, but there IS a 2-6 of captain mo's spiced in my closet right now. not that it matters because i'm in university and staying in residence so they have to know that i drink.
 
i think it's funny how my parents think that taking away the only thing i care about (skiing) is gonna make me want to not drink when i started cause they were taking away stuff like that in the first place. I would kill if atleast one of my three older sisters drank, then they would be used to it now.

idk i dont drink. never really got into it yet but i kinda dont trust myself if i was drunk becuz i know ill do something or say something stupid that ill regret later. maybe this weekend
 
im 21 my parents dont care if i smoke pot in my house or get super drunk.

and it's been that way since i was probably 16 years old. as long as i kept up straight As they were fine with everything. and as long as i informed them of what i was up to.
 
i am so jealous of all the parents out there who are chill about drinking and such, anyone want to swap? be aware tho, you will also be getting parents who think skiing is a waste of time and money.
 
haha ive been drinking for a while, and buying it for my people, all the other parents know i do it too, which i find funny, but my rents just found out this summer, my dad fliped a shit, and my mom was like w/e we did it to, just dont get caught. AS for the searching of the rooms, that one doesnt happen, my mom puts away my laundry some times, and one time i had a couple I.D.s in my top draw and she was like "Neil, are you fucking kidding me....these are the worst fakes i have ever seen do they really work?" then she gave them back
 
yeah they do, one scans, but i lost it, idk how, its somewhere in my house, and the other gets me into bars, but we normally buy our beer froom places that dont even card
 
mom--> just dont get addicted or get fucked with the law.

dad--> do it at home, THEN go out, but make sure you have a good ol' DD.
 
Same here. Except I'm 25.

Even been caught in a bar by the police when I was underage drinking. They called my parents at home but they didnt make a big deal out of it. They knew I was drinking with friends of mine and that I wouldnt cause some trouble and shit.
 
"wow, hes growing up so fast, he had his first beer last night" im 16 and have been drinking for over 3 years, i have never even come close to getting caught. but they said that to one of my friends and he laughed, they still didnt get the picture.
